It was a windy week. The wind ended up being pretty holey due to all the sunshine on the sand just upwind of the lake. We had some really fun downwinders at Whiskey Run. The wind was less than desirable, but we all had fun trying new stuff and hitting the PVC slider.
I think this picture sums it up:

Yeah the wind was less than perfect for working on new stuff but it was still a great week of riding and hanging with some great people.

Everyone seemed to have a great time at Floras over the past couple of weekends.
While it did get crowded on the water at times everyone got into the flow and I did not notice any issues with Kiteboards and Windsurfers crowding each other; everyone got along great from what I saw.
At one time there were over 15 kites and 10 windsurfers on the water in harmony which was cool. With a few exceptions the kiteboarders stayed south, upwind, of the school and the windsurfers were directly west of the school.
While I knew most of the kiters I met a bunch of really cool windsurfers, what I thought was really great is that some of them have been coming to Floras for over 20 years, a few were both windsurfing and kiteboarding. Everyone seemed to be sharing the wind stoke and good times.

Floras was Fantastic again this year!
Great turnout great fun. only a few kite blowouts, broken strings and no injuries!
Saturday sustaining 47mph gusts to 54!
