I was just on the Kiteboarding Magazines FTP site and noticed your file! I EXPECT to see lots of your shots showing up over the next six months in the mags. Nice work man, and your photography has definitely stepped up well into the pro-catagory! Sure wish I had more time for creative shoots...
Nice work, Bams |
Thanks man, hopefully get a pic in a mag this year. Although, don’t know that I have the patience to keep sending photos to the mags to just get passed on, serious props to all the photogs that can do it. How do you hold out when your really excited about a sweet pic? Also, I really like the instant gratification of posting on-line for the nwkite peeps. |

Yeah Rico has the quick turnaround dialed, usually when you see the photos he's posting them within a few hours of shooting them. Post sesh he'd have the MacBook going in the back of the van downloading the CF card and then doing the photoshop stuff so by the time we got to the house he was ready to upload!
Photos seem to pack a bigger punch when they are more recent or even only a few hours old. Seeing a photo months later just isn't the same.
Then again getting a full page in a mag is really special and Rico is long overdue! It might be a bit my fault for encouraging him to give too much of the goods on nwkite.
I can't believe Aaron or Ryan wouldn't be into a night kiting article, I don't ever remember seeing one before and I certainly don't remember seeing photos like Rico's! |

the kite cam is sweet I would love to see what it shows when being whipped around in big swell. It also needs some interference, like someone buzzing and harrassing you or maybe giving the kite a few bumps with thier kite, a bully I guess. |

--Thanks for thinking of us peeps and not always of yourself. There are way too many photographers (mee too) who think only of themselves & how they can get published, and how they can make the cover-shot - it seems it's
always ....me me me. Thanks for thinking... "We". You give us a fresh perspective of kiting without the marketing hype and always seem to deliver consistent awesome pics (and videos! (Colby too!))
Why toil with the magazines when you can make all your buddies jiz when they see a killer shot of the railey they just did 2 hours ago? It will take weeks if not months of pushing that same photo to a trade, with minimal compensation...

Henry,
I plan on you being a top conteder in the BOTG photo contest! As a reminder, the competion is only open to amateurs......That will keep the playing field fair. _________________ KB4C!!!!!!!!!!!!

more dangers to watch out for when kiting Holly Beach
There must be another way Rico can make more use of his talent - maybe SlingShot could sponsor his SPI trip next year due to all the 'product placement'?? ...or Mark could hook something up through Naish?
Thanks for the nice feedback on the video!! _________________ www.WestRoots.com Last edited by colby on Thu Apr 24, 08 10:15 am; edited 1 time in total |

Was wondering when the snake pic would show up. That thing was crazy! I didn't even know rattlers could swim By the way they swim quite well. He could put his head up and out of the water about 5" and look around. Oh yeah, his rattler was a scary sound. _________________ Cleverly disguised as an adult...
