From the camera angle it seems the surfer should of seen the kite so im sure it was an accident because those guys are good friends. love the elitist attitudes on here. Get a clue and stop judging. |
If he is such a good kiter, what was he doing riding a 15' wave on a twin tip? |
ya never know

surfers do ride ride TT
Kiters using such a large kite are always asking trouble ,a large wave will create such a large laminar air flow patterns.
The wind will be fucked up while on the wave
an 8.0 or 6.0 is much better choice for me

I agree. Doucheologies probably uses a 12 or bigger in waves and can't unhook.

surfboards are great , it's just more fun when
you can do (just about)anything you want with a TT.
A five foot TT can have a very similar profile with surfboard
so I don't why you are not digging TT. |
I am a surfer, so there would never be a point EVER that I would take out a twintip in the surf. I will make it out, and I will ride waves. Not much more to it than that.
All of the guys that I see in the surf with twintips are kooking it out. Getting in the way, riding right through the middle of the lineup, with no regard for anyone riding waves. Doing their "tricks" off the waves, dropping their kites where everyone else is trying to surf. Forcing right of way, when someone else is on a wave, and they should be giving them clear berth. There have not been any exceptions to this.
If it is different at your guys breaks, that is awesome, I just haven't seen it.

STOP the small kite snobbery. Some of the cleanest and most glassy waves are when using a 12-13m. The winds have not had a chance to muttle-up the wave faces. Are smaller kites more fun to use and easier to turn? Yes, of course. Just deal with it.
Second observation: awful lot of posts with Dangler, Dan K, and Proctor. Me thinks they are all the same person.
