The guy on the twin tip and too big of kite is on the wrong gear. Smaller kite and bigger board and some skills to go with them and he might have not ate shit. That big of kite isn't going to move where you need it to unless the wind direction is perfect.

But at least he didn't use a jetski to catch the wave. Respect that.

Well said Dan k!!!!!!

The smaller kite the better for waves.

Using a kite in waves even if its a 13 m kite with a twin tip is still more respectable than using a jet ski to tow in.

The article reads like anti kite propaganda. Can surfers share the waves with kiters? Shit in most spots they can't even share waves with other surfers.

I might respect that if he had actually caught the wave...

The first video, I kinda gave him the benefit of the doubt, but the second one is hard to dispute that he should have even been there at all. If the wind is so light that you need a 13, should you really be charging one of the fastest and gnarliest waves in the world?

Wind must have not been too light if he was on a twin tip. Looks like this guy is a kook but has huge balls. I dont get why didn't he rig a smaller kite like a 9 or 7 and use a surfboard?

You think a surfboard buys you 5M of kite power over a decent sized twin? Now THAT IS kooky. Laughing
