Could this be what everyone is really fighting about?

I was talking to some locals yesterday and they told me a story about an ancient native american treasure that was originally obtained from Christopher Columbus and passed down El Dorado gold from Cortez's army. I bought this map from him, clearly shows there is something down there:

The map is good, but to set the record straight I've sifted through all the other relevant threads and come up with a video that clearly explains who the key players are and what's at stake (as revealed at the end of the video). Also, look for a surprise appearance by Scooter at 0:14:

Just heard the "Friends of the Waterfront" were staging pictures on Sunday showing that the boat basin is heavily used by kayakers, SUPers, and even fisherman.

Since there is an absence of activity, they must clearly be right.

Boggles my mind that most Americans will fall victim to this.

No "staging" of pictures. Just doing a salmon smolt ID. Lot's of juvenile salmon smolt live in the basin.

There has been no legitimate 3rd party study there recently and we would like to see one completed before we move forward.

It was beautiful out there both Sunday and Saturday. Feel free to come on out and join us for a paddle.

Very Happy
Off to tonight's meeting. See ya there.

Yup. go down there in the evening and watch the thousands of juvenile salmon jumping and feeding on the fly hatch. I got photo and video of both chinook and coho smelt and now the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is now getting involved and will probably want a comprehensive study of the basin and the impact on any development down there.

That is one of the many concerns our members have. There have been no significant studies on the impact a cable park will have on the few endangered species that call the basin waters home.

Very Happy

Really ? GTBFKM !
A Cable park is going to more damage to any imaginary or actual habitat than any other venture ? Not likely.
So self righteous but my bet is you end up doing more harm to the habitat, and costing the taxpayers rather than benefiting them if you succeed in preventing the Cable Park.

No capturing. Just pics. That was enough to get ODFW to get involved.

I don't think any reasonable person would equate the use of a kayak to the fast moving and constant wakboarding a cable park would bring.

Good luck with that argument.

Yeah, cause salmon cant survive in " constant, fast moving " water like streams and rivers.

I do have to give you credit for involving ODFW.
Getting bureaucracy involved is a sure way to slow things down and make it expensive

Derek, I can't wait for the environmental studies. When it's determined that a cable, which doesn't touch the water, pulling riders who put oxygen in the water, improves fish habitat, I get to ride you like a surfboard on my first pull! Deal?
