the back up to cascades snowkiting is backcountry snowbarding.
the dutchman area has that in spades.
spring backcountry skiing conditions will be a great alternative if the wind is a noshow.
avy conditions should have settled.
help out central oregons economy get over there its always worth the trip. |

I am looking forward to working on my tan. The weather-Bandito told me it always blows up there in January. 18-26mph on top of Sunrise this morning...let's have some of that!

Every time I been to Bachelor to snowboard its been nukin winds (at least on top of the mountain.) So I assume that either it will be great snowkiting, or perfect no wind snowboarding, or just fun party time. |

the BKC has been working with the forest service to help ensure a positive experience for both kiters and govvy officials. It might be a lil disrespectful to have a "take over" when its only in the first year. not trying to be rude, just dont want to see things messed up with the F.S.
forecast looks like perfect spring snowkiting conditions. Wind may be light but its hard to say whats going on above treeline. (winds aloft)
see ya there _________________ I stretch my wings and pull the strings |

Weather looks great with bluebird conditions, so hopefully wind will pick up throughout the day. We hit it last weekend and it was gusty but perfect 12m condition, so bring your big kite. Be sure to stay tuned to the shuttle arrangement. If you have any questions about it, contact tim@bendkitecrew.com or myself at matt@kite-line.com. Party at The Summit Saturday night will be a blast. Lots of schwag from industry sponsors and some big items, so should be awesome. |

my earlier question was not a threat of a party crash... opposite intent actually.
we have kited in the area a couple times over the past three years and have talked with forest service chaps almost every time...
they patrol the border of the sled neck area checking for tracks into the wilderness.
so my question is .... if some people show up and I am talking a few like 2 is it going to threaten your the bkc arrangement. We are fully self sufficient and you are more than welcome to use our 20 foot tailer for exra shelter from the sun if needed.
I am fully aware of group wilderness size limits.. our group will be alone unless thats not how the arrangement works??
unlike the beach and surfer mentalities of certain beach areas... snow kiting is usually way more user friendly with lots of friends buzzing around randomly... that way you can do ride-by kite launch flips ect... post holig sucks no matter how good of a kiter you are...
g-man give me a call .. |
