AND by SI I mean frenchman's bar.

I have checked and can't make up my mind. I leave for Mexico tomorrow @ 7 AM and I can either spend the last night kicking it with my GF or out on the water with my buddies. I don't want to rock the boat if the wind is going to blow. Or I guess that would mean i would be worth rocking the boat if the wind blows.

Either way I am confused.

After yesterday's session at Stevenson, everything else is going to be a let down.

I would advise you to satisfy your GF so she won't be calling me when your out of town. Laughing Laughing

SI has been such a tease for a week now. She put out for like 8 days straight and now she ramps up throughout the day like she's going to give it to us - and then . . . nothing!!

She could blow today - but more likely than not - she won't Confused

hmmm.... I'm very tempted to go check it out. Theres a bit of a breeze outside, nothing less than on other days where it correlated to great wind at Reeder Beach.

In case you are curious, I looked up where the SI weather station that www.windonthewater.com uses is located:

http://www.deq.state.or.us/lab/aqm/stations/sis14152.htm

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=122.7721W+45.7685N&mrt=all&ie=UTF8&ll=45.769237,-122.77145&spn=0.002556,0.005005&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=45.768399,-122.77068&panoid=8hiiwLMXJuaur68dnE84Cw&cbp=1,312.34183959332983,,0,-0.07079727381990885

If anybody has a hand-held anemometer we could figure out the difference between what it reports and what the wind up at the kite beach actually is. With enough data we could apply a correction factor to the wind readout at www.windonthewater.com

Hmm, I use the Fremont flags as an indicator of NW flow, and it is looking wimpy right now. The flags are flopping but there's no enthusiasm. I wouldn't bet on good wind yet. Tell the GF it's Business Time! Laughing

Sailflow and usairnet both indicate some wind and looking outside it looks like there is some up on the island. I'm convinced enough to head out there in half an hour, see ya there. Cool

Blah! We got there about 6pm and there were caps all over, but the current was so strong going UP river that even Kelton at 130 lbs was underpowered on an 11m, and even Drew couldn't stay up wind on a 12m and his plank. Really strange conditions.
