Really strange conditions. | AHA! I was wondering why it was so hard to stay upwind. Pretty fun evening overall though. |

yeah it did seem windy (white caps) but looked hard to stay wind... |
Seriously, it felt like the current was actually flowing toward portland! At one point Drew threw his board in and it did start moving up river at about 3mph! I'm sure the wind was contributing, but it was really strange to see his board floating up river.... _________________ Lets FLY |

Tides can reverse the current once the snowmelt backs off. I'm pretty sure this happens later in the season on a regular basis. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

So with tides having an effect on the conditions at SI. How much of a delay is there between high tide at the ocean and high tide at SI? _________________ Keep livin' the dream. |

The DEQ wind station lags ~2hrs in the readout compared to the actual wind. It is a good indication that the wind is blowing through the Island, but that's about it unless it is blowing all day…
