I'm thinking of heading to Jones about 3 or so if it looks good. Room for 1 plus a couple kites and a board or two.

I'll be leaving for Sauvie's or Jones (wind depending) maybe around 3-4pm depending on conditions. Leaving from Beaverton (near Cornell exit on highway 26). Can probably take another person or hop in someone's car.

Can you give an onsight report today anytime you can? THanks, man.
I have to come back to work around 3/4 (weak), so I can't carpool.

I'm pretty sure it's on today...all signs point to yes... though I believe I need the wisdom of the 8-ball....

uh oh..low tide ~4pm if I read it right.

that said, stevenson is always a better bet. Sad

Hard to say with the cloud cover today, but typically Jones blows hard and is way windier than Sauvie's. That sensor is protected from the wind so typically I add 5-10mph on top of the gusts to get a feel for what it's blowing at Jones. Also, Nuclear Alley (WA side of the river) blows harder than the Oregon side by about 5mph or so. Jones is often 8m weather and blows until dark.

It takes about 1:15-1:20 to get to Jones from Beaverton. Pretty similar to Hood River, but you don't have to fight traffic. It's still a bit closer than the beach and blows until dark a lot of the time. The coast unfortunately gets lighter after 5-6pm. So Jones is better 'cause you can ride close to 8pm in good wind. Just keep heading West on highway 30 past Clatskanie and you'll see a small sign on the right for Jones beach about 5 miles after town (give or take a few). It's across from an Asian restaurant sitting by itself. Follow that road to the river beach and go right for a bit.

1:20 +/- 5 from my place - yeah thats a little Far. Way to slow down the JONES momentum Tiny - E Wink. And yes it's cool - as in 10 deg or so cooler than PDX usually. Inbetween is Nukeular beach (whats the real name of that place). I've had a couple good sessions there - Don't know if there is any TOXIC issues in reality. I still prefer JONES tho.
