I couldn't resist. not the most ideal place: downwind fence, power lines, gusty winds and trees, but oh well, its kiting nonetheless Twisted Evil Cool

Here are a couple pics with advice for those interested in in-town kiting
(thanks to slingshot durability my kite survived )

"make sure you have a wide open area and enough space downwind of you"

never said it was smart. every time I saw that field I wondered if that tree would be a problem for the kite...

Are you in that little "field" off of Kings and Lincoln? Kinkos in the background with the FedEx truck? haha!

JP and I used to fly our kites on campus. Go to the BIG field across from Park West apartments on 15th and E Street. Or the field between 30th-35th and Jefferson... though I think they put soccer goals in there.

EDIT: P.S. - At least you were prepared with your impact vest. lol

I think you need a better / safer field + Landboard.

If you wanted to go kiting you should have given me a call! Had a final @ 8, finished at 8:30, went to work at noon instead!

some guy wanted to watch cause he thought I was going to fly away with it, like a motor powered parasail or something. I told him it was a kite and that I was just going to maneuver it around and he left.

you couldnt find a bigger field in Corvallis... its surrounded by all fields and farmland? I guess there are a lot of land obstacles there though.....Cows.

(the rugby field down near forestry dept is usually wide open but not sure how wind blows there)

Let me guess Spike, you drank a bunch of green beer for St. Patrick's Day and thought it was a good idea, right?

Hopefully Spring will bring us some good weather soon and we will see you back at the launch....SOBER.
