Another great day.... a little on the "wet" snow side, but the wind was there for sure.
This place could get real good with the right snow quality.
Here are some pics from today. Thanks to ussnowkite.com for the spot!
-This place seems to have tons of potential as a lot of the places in the gorge....I bet you guys will be killing it all winter up here.....I had to get the goods before surgery on Tues....

I agree, what a fun day...Little wet but sure as hell beats sitting on the couch...It's only my 2nd time trying this snowkite stuff out...Pretty hard sh**....But it looks so easy on TV....My legs are fu**'n kill'n me...
But I guess with every new thing, gotta start somewhere - right...
ppsssss, Adam - Jake said it was ok to rest....
I'm so out of shape, it's not even funny.
ooohhh-oohh - and the best part about snowkiting,
your drinks always stay cold...

Fun day, but whatta work out... got to do non-stop leg presses at the gym to be ready for the next sesh I guess. I bet it'd get easier in the dryer snow at least.
Gotta keep an eye on that snow level and Lyle ridge wind sensor, next time snow drops below 2000 feet and its windy I think its game on!
Snowboarding uphill is a trip!
Good luck with your surgery Chanson, you were boosting some phatties today!

Nice job boys,
What was the wind direction? It looks like you guys found fairly strong wind. Was the road plowed or was it 4X4 only?
I'm stoked you guys got it good.

Road got plowed the day before but I'd say both days it was 4x4 only, real icy in spots.
Wind was awesome, it was just the snow that was a bit tough. Real heavy and deep. Maybe its just that we are noobs but you'd get tired after only a few tacks and have to park the kite and rest.
Seems like dryer or more packed snow would be easier. We found riding in our tracks was much easier than the fresh stuff.
The day before the snow was super dry, would have loved to have Saturday's snow with Sunday's wind!

Yeah, the wind was nice...I'd say SW maybe even a little SE at first...
I think the snow quality has a lot to do with it....At times, there would be a 3 ft. canoe of snow on the front of my board.....that can't help your power... A bigger board would have been a little easier on the legs also.
If the powder was there from Sat. with 7m wind from yesterday, there would have been powder shots all day!!

Sweet pictures guys, Jake was really charging it.
Even though I was drenched head to toe, it was still a blast. Saturday would ahve been the perfect day with Sunday's wind.
I agree with Phil, you work a ton of different muscles than you do kiting, so it was quite tiring. I had a big goard (168), but I think that just made more of a snow pile on top of it
There is definitely a trick to setting your board up as well. The bindings on my board are set a few inches back toward the tail, so I found that heading regular was easy, but going to my goofy side I would plow under quite a bit. You really want your bindings centered and ducked out a bit.
Falling is alos a "bit" more painful. I have a nice big knot on my knee today, and a few other bumps and bruises.
I also would not recommend going up there without 4 wheel drive The way down was nice and adventurous in the mud.
