Or, you could go to the Marina parking lot on 33rd and Marine Dr. and skate-kite in off-shore goodness!!!

I've been out a Frenchmans in southerlies a couple of times and it was okay, a lot more gusty than when it's northerly. Time it so the tide is coming in. If you do go downwind there is lots of beach to get out and walk back. Today i was thinking of going and checking out Wintler park but i've loaned my car out with all my kiting kit in it At least at Wintler you'd be upstream of the Willamette

I've never done S/SW winds at SI. I know it can be done. Just remember that the heavy rains Portland has had the past few days means you might be able to do some tabletops off the turds you flushed down your toilet a couple of days ago.
CSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phil, you've been reading too much Kite World...we Americans call it "gear" damn it!
SI needs significant SE to fill in to the shoreline...

| So did anyone go out? I'm curious how Rooster was with all of the South in the wind... How 'bout Wintler or Sauvie's? (Poo water!) I've never tried Wintler; do the nearby trees screw up the wind?

5m....? Since when was the last time I called Jenny Craig....?
I was going to head out to rooster after work (3:30).
It only takes me about 15-20 minute drive from the house (since I live @ Rocky Butte in NE)....
But as I looked to the SW - I saw a pack of dark clouds getting closer...
I thought Rain...!!! And lots of it....
I don't mind kiting in the rain...I just didn't feel like it yesterday....I didn't think it would be worth it....Maybe on a weekend....
This weather sucks...!!!
Hey Adam (kataku)....I'm not sure what the weather will be like this weekend.., but if it comes from the south - I might be thinking of hitting siletz bay....Besides the rain, that place is pretty sick on a south wind day...

WSW at Corbett will mean good westerlies at Rooster.
Its a trip, I have been there when the clouds above the gorge were obviously fully southerly, but the wind at Rooster was west.
It will usually start raining and it will be gusty, but it will get you out in a pinch and no CSO.

Sounds cool....
It might be too soon to tell, but I think Saturday is suppose to be dry (no rain) with only cloudy skies around the northwest....
If the forecast looks promising, than Chanson, myself and maybe a few others, are probably going coast bound...Assuming the tide is right, than Silitz Bay is the ticket.....
The last time I was there (w/ Tucker and Adam)...The wind went from a soft 15+ to a nuke'n 30+ in a matter of seconds.....And I swear the rain was coming down horizontal in buckets....
Talk about a storm session....
Spent the entire next day, drying my shit...nothing was dry...Nothing...!
