Ripping on sticks for the last 40 seasons, I love the mountain. BUT Kiteboarding has several aspects that rule over the snow.

For one, it lets me sleep in (I can party all night without worrying about getting up at the crack of dawn.)

I never get cold on the kite and there's always a bikini around. Wink

Where are you riding at? Certainly sounds different than the Oregon I know.

I think he must ride at the super secret spot in the Gorge where they have Best girl photo shoots every day and it's always sunny and 90 degrees out Laughing

I just wish he'd share the spot.

Dry and fluffy snow, bikinis, bluebird days? I thought that this was a northwestern site ; ). People must be travelling to get this stuff. the occasional bluebird, yeah.
Fresh snow falls aplenty and we can be thankful for it and the great days on the hill, but some of you guys should experience good snow at least once in your life. That means getting out of Oregon, WA, or Whislter. Track a storm and head to Utah,Wyoming, MT, or CO and get some real dry snow. It's like nothing that falls anywhere around here.
Enjoy the upcoming season, wherever you be!

I must agree about the snow quality here; it just sucks.

Bring it all....can't decide.....hmmm, tele-ski, snowboard, or ski...? That is hard enough to decide, but when I add kiting to the equation it just gets harder!! Very Happy

I am ultra-indecisive anyways Razz

Dude - I learned how to snowboard in Arizona. The snow there sucks balls. This place is like a dozen playboy bunnies at the play boy mansion hot compared to the shit I learned on Mad

And there is nothing like the double double spring days -- ride the chair in the morning, then go kite.

Nothing like skiing Bachelor on a the Spring morning (spring hrs 7-1pm) 7 to 11:00, fishing the Dechutes river for a hr + on the way back from Bachelor and hitting a nice evening kiting session on the river. Done it once; long day, but fun.

Snow/rain here in Sunriver right now with more white stuff in the higher elevations.

Ya'll have drank too much of the kool aide if you think the snow is that bad in the PNW, or maybe you just need to stop riding your little sisters snowboard and get on a deck that floats!

Yeah we might not have the uber light utah fluff but no where gets more snow and we have plenty of light powder days with face shots galore.

I lived in southern colorado for years and heard all the hype about the cascade concrete before moving here.

Baker set the record for the the most snowfall recorded in the history of man kind (97 I think), nothing shitty about that.

Agreed.....

Sounds like a lot of de-hype to me too...Pretty sure the 165 made it through the concrete last year.
Its like saying it rains everyday here, or ...

I love it when I hear people say "Isn't the Gorge always gusty"??

Only bummer part about snowboarding is it goes for a few minutes and then stops, then your back on the lift or heli or snowmobile or whatever. Kiting you can go for hours non-stop.

Now snowkiting.... Twisted Evil
