Between climbing all day with 50 pound carpenter bags then going 3-4 times a week to kite old school c-kites, I developed a pretty painful case of Tendonitis. Long story short. A lot of times I will do a search on earthclinic.com or search the internet for cures before I pump money into the medical industrial complex. On earthclinic the remedy with the most positive responses was alfalfa so I tried it. It worked for me! In less than a week my symptoms have been reduced about 90%! I know there have been several posts about Tendonitis, so I thought I would share.

4 sure! I'm taking 5 capsule 2 times a day. Alfalfa has other benefits as well including being a good source of vitamins. 7$ at Fred Meyer or 30$ at gnc?

I am perfectly happy with the service I get from the "medical industrial complex" but I also like simple inexpensive solutions and alternative medicine. $7 at Fred Meyer saves time and money. I hope I get similar results

thx for taking the time to post.

Ive had tendinitis issues in both shoulders, and after this kite season had it ragin' in my bicep . I read this, then went on the earthclinic site PerryJ mentioned. Started on a regimen of alfalfa, cod liver oil, fish oil (been taking this for a couple months), and apple cider vinegar. Also applied direct ice (not ice pack) to my shoulder and bicep a couple times a day and immediately following a workout. Seems ridiculous i know, but tendinitis has been holding me back from a lot of things i want to do. Anyway, my pain is gone now.

Thx for the hookup PerrJ

It's fun to stir the angry bee hive. Sometimes amusing anyway. Truth be told I first went to the doctor to get the diagnosis. He recommended physical therapy but I was working 10 hours a day well past when anyone was open. Only 20 minutes from the beach though Very Happy . I'm glad to hear it is working for some other people! It seems that since I have gone back to work I now have to continue with the capsules. There is totally a medical industrial complex though. Shocked

wasn't trying to harsh on your advice perryj, it sounded nutty but i gave it a shot and it seems to work. plus chewing the pills (which are horse sized anyway) before a run makes me feel like seabiscuit

i think the sharp-penciled medical types are absolutely the folks to see if you are hit by a car or shot or run over by a snowmobile .... or even aspire to go from the cancer ward to being a medically enhanced 7 time tour de france winner.

and don't get me started on the benefits of vaccines

but if you have some aches from playing too hard, those guys are worthless, they just say "don't play so hard".... oh okay thanks doc

thanks again for the horsey pills perry

Alfalfa ! Wow .
That stuff smells awesome on the pasture and our cows love it , clover too . I have been consuming lots of milk , cheese for 55yrs and I don't have tendonitis so it must work !
I just need a fix for degenerative arthritis now ?!
Seriously , I hope it works as these type of debilitating problems really get in the way of a good life ! Thanks for sharing .

Thanks for the post, I'll try it. Both my elbows are a disaster. So painful. I could barely hold a kite bar. My doctor's answer was do not kite. Whahhh?

Booooo on that advice! I think the alfalfa is worth a try. My right elbow was a total disaster too. Picking up my daughter felt like somebody put a blowtorch on it. Anyway, I've not kited as much recently but 10 days of alfalfa so far and I have no pain at all. Sure wish I was taking it back in July but it feels good to have a daily bothersome pain.. ........go away.

Thanks Doc Perry! Beers on me next session.

Hmmm... I tweaked out my shoulder hyper-extending it in a road cycle fall about a month ago. Bursitis, and arthritis. On day 3 of alfalfa, as well as PT, and perco-set to sleep. Hoping for results before the La Ventana 48 hour run south.

Strictly for the record I'll beg to differ. Not trying to harsh either.

Glad it seems to be working for other people, I think next kite season will be the real test. My season is over anyway. Wylie I think there was a different cure for bursitis but I guess it is a similar ailment?

Had tendinitis in both elbows. Worse in right elbow. Blood platelet injections (my own platelets reinjected into my tendons) total of 3 times over 4 months, by orthopedic Dr., who is a windsurfer. Hurts but it worked! Tried PT for 3 months before the Therapist recommended the procedure as therapy was not resolving the issue.

If you have health insurance, the procedure costs $50-200. The success rate is around 75% (what the Ortho said).

With each injection, my elbow got about 1/3 better. You know within days after the injection if it is working. Some can go back to normal activities 2-3 weeks after 1st injection. It just depends upon your body and how it responds to it.

My 2 cents...
