Got another rescue with Waverunner yesterday at jones. Corey picked up a kiter who managed to tie her kite to the pilings on the WA side.

She was ok but had no chance of relaunching her kite.

She offered some cash for the assistance however I didn't take it. I figure we all need to watch out for each other and am glad to be able to provide help.

That's 3 people rescues and several boards this season. My karma account should have a nice balance should I need help.

It was good to see that she was calm, and had climbed to a safe spot. When I saw it from a distance and headed over to check it out, I was dreading finding a kiter pinned to the jetty, but fortunately that wasn't the case.

Great job with the ski... we're lucky to have you guys around!

Awesome!
I stopped to help one time.
Wow I never helped a pregnant women stuck in the ditch before. " I'm not pregnant !" she said.
Your not out if the ditch yet either ......!
So no I didn't accept any cash either.
Feels good to help another in need for sure.

What the picture doesn't show is the 200+ loops the kite did before we could get to John to get the wave runner in the water... I always feel more confident when I see a kiter with a jet ski.

Damn straight. You don't have to be the saved to appreciate the rescuer. I'm sure not just the person that had the issue is the only one who benefited from a jet ski available. Knowing help is possible is huge.
As for refusing the money, no one is more wealthly than the man who neighbors know no hunger.

Good looking out.

It was a unusual day at jones... 7m winds, big gusts and a lot of holes. She caught one line on the marker and the kite decided to loop hundreds of times. With the wind there was no way of freeing the one line. So it was a self deflate, jet ski rescue.

I want to always kite with this crowd! Good move.
Was their also beer & brats on the shore that one could've "neighbored" up to?
Kip

PS: That was the same kitemare that BamBam had at Viento in this year's Blowout. Steering line encounters nav piling.

It's very cool to help people out. Offer to help launch, land, advice and rescue.
Good job!

Kip,

Similar, except that I would have climbed that sucker, gotten my gear unhooked, and self rescued myself in. Just like Viento. I don't need no stinking jetski support!

Glad it all turned out well at Jones and kudos to those who helped out.

Good job John... Just remember, I was number one! Nice peace of mind having the ski there for sure. I double check my lines are secured to the kite every time now.

Had a fun launch yesterday at the event site... had the lines trimmed back but it wasn't solid in the bar so when a 35mph gust hit it zipped the trim line up to the stopper ball and tore the chicken loop out. Turned out ok though. It didn't tomahawk anybody and I hung on. Reminder to have a little patience and do a little pre-flight! All in all it was a great day on the 6 meter.

Wade I don't count you since you got your kite relaunched and made it back under your own power. I actually forgot about that day.
