I know that Jeff Hinds was out there with a Cannon rep on Aug 8th. Here is a link to his Jones photo album on Facebook

Big thanx to the guy's with the jet ski. I also was in a position to help this girl and so relieved to see that ski sitting on the beach.
From a distance I could see a kite spinning from the piling and I knew somebody was in trouble. when I first arrived at the piling, she was still fully attached and kind of stuck there. I was happy to see that she was not hurt and very calm. She asked me what I thought she should do. I told her that I had to think about it for a minute because I honestly had no idea. After some short tacks pondering the situation I realized that she had to get that tangled line off the top of the piling. I told her to attach her board to her kite leash and through the ladder so that all gear was anchored securely. Now free, she could climb to the upper platform and try to unhook that one line. While she got busy on that task I said that I would try to get some help. When I got to the beach I didn't see any boats. I told the situation to some people and they pointed to the jet ski. Yes! They said the owner of the ski was at the ponds on a red airush. So off I go to look for this guy and on the way stop at the piling to see how she's doing. She tells me that there is no way to untangle the line with so much tension. I said, no worries, a jet ski will be here soon. Hang tight. just then I heard a loud "Twang" and her stuck line finally snapped from all the friction.
When I found the guy on the airush kite and told him what was happening, he didn't hesitate. He shot right across the river and was to the rescue in minutes. Cool Dude. |
