Today my trusty mainstay, '09 11m fuel, sustained a grave blow.
She may not make it. Sad
Really have enjoyed that kite but wish it flew a hair more forward in the window.
So if anyone has a suggestion for an alternative replacement, PM me if you want but no need to lock the topic with brand pimpin'
unless someone really has to go there Rolling Eyes
BTW have tried rpm's and like but say the same, a hair more into the window would be ideal....
Use is more freeride, little surf, just like the C feel.

That is an easy repair for Airtime, Mark --aka Dangler-- or whomever. Truly.

Maybe it's more fixable than I thought then, guess I should get a quote
--definitely the worst I have done to a kite though. Confused
And thanks for the kite suggestions..
Might have a few questions off-list on those....

If you can't get it fixed, demo the SS Rally. Don't let the delta moniker scare you away. It has the direct connect feel you like on the Fuel, but flies well forward in the window. Seems sized small to me, I'd demo a size bigger than you are used to and get you some of that Fuel grunt.

I always thought C kites had less power than any other style kite?

Never flown one myself, so maybe I'm off base....

Agree. I flew Fuels since '06 and tried the Rallys this year. Direct Fuel-like feel. Actually faster turning and good range. I have a 6 and 10 (with a 13m Key for a big kite) with some different board setups and have been fine in all conditions.

Good kite for upwind pinching and racing too. Good allrounder, unhooks nicely.

I had the same tear i my 10m key. Just paid 115 to airtime, it's as good as new, and a lot cheaper then a new kite

C Kites pull more pretty much because you cant depower them like you can any other kite. So thats why they have more power than any other style kite. If you ride a c kite you would feel it and understand.

i always thought 'grunt' translated to 'this kite doesn't depower well'

which was the case with my 05 fuels... don't miss them too much

An old C kite flyer told me that a C kite of say, size 11, would not have the same power as a bow kite of size 11, you would need a C kite 12M to equal the power of a bow at 11M, all other things being equal.

I always thought that 'grunt' referred to the low end of a kites range. Man, I never even wondered if thats what it means. Actual translation please?

That is my take on things..

A grunty kite is just more powerful in the lower end and that power also comes on faster and stronger...i.e. C kites are much gruntier than other kites. Gruntier to me also eans more "on or off". which does relate to depower.
