That time of year again for this annual bet. Last season was the first and only season I did not ride SI. This place used to blow all the time. Now it seems it just blows. . . ie not wind. This Spring seems a lot like last years, so I guessing the trend will continue. . . weak season for SI. I hope I am wrong because a hot SI day with 10m wind can be a blast. Plus when it blows at SI, it decreases the # of riders elsewhere.

All this said, I'm guessing that there will be puffs at SI on 4-20 right around 4:20 pm. . . that is puffs of N/NW wind Wink

Any takers?

It's funny...the weather guys are comparing this spring to 2003. That was the year I moved back to the NW in the middle of winter from a place that was sunny and windy year-round. By the end of March I was ready to pack my bags (kind of like this year).

But by mid April or so in 2003 I remember SI just started firing and kept going right through the summer. I was like..."this place aint so bad!" 2004 was pretty good, but our Northerly pattern setups have seemed weak since then.

Here's to a return of strong Northerly setups!

I'll bet on 4/18.

Here's to hoping I spend more time after work kiting and less sitting on the beach this season!

After getting my tax bill, I'm going to need something good to happen that day.

What I love most about the NW; no matter who predicts, the weather god's will have some other plan, so my wind bags are always packed and ready!!!
