Ben please check your PM's. I need you to call me asap so we can talk about some very important things before you get started. I sent you my cell number in the PM.

I asked Ben what kite he got and this was the PM he sent back.
I am trying to get Ben hooked up with some friends back east so he can do this right and not kill himself...cuz the path he is on now is leading down a very dangerous road. It just shows you that people getting into this sport have no idea what to look for when buying gear. Sorry Ben but we warned you....that kite is so dangerous and out of date its not even funny.

I don't think its a C kite though. I think it is actually classified as a capitol U shape thereby guaranteeing that it will never ever relaunch. Hope it came with a wrist leash. |
That looks like the one you "taught" me on PMB. That was a different era for sure. The U shape will be back. The good designs always come back around.

What did you learn on and where did you take lesson Monkey dude?
Honestly it’s not brain surgery!
I am ridding ok and it’s been all me!
No one hurt no damage to the gear!
Might not be for everyone but worked for me!

"Yeah, I'm sure you have got it all dialed. I'll look for the guy doing the tree poop stance.
I have not actually learned to kiteboard yet. I mainly just visit this site for the playful banter. I am going to learn real soon though, I just need to buy some gear first. I recently picked up a sweet pickle fork on closeout. Now I just needs some kites. I'm thinking about getting a quiver of sling shot torques.
The main point of this story is that there is a certain group of people that ask for advice and then go about roundly ignoring it. Which is kind of fucking annoying. What make these threads worth while however is that many of these same people cite money as an issue then they go buying some outdated piece of shit gear that they are going to have to replace anyways. Sure, you could learn to drive in a 400 hp sports car with a bad clutch and no seat belts...but would you want to?

dude, that thing is sweet. I guess the leading edge inflates for easy water relaunch!! |
So you can fly it without having to inflate it right!! Cool!! That must be the predecessor to the one pump - its called the "no pump".

Ben, don't be such a pussy, nut up and put that new kite to use.
Here's what you should do:
1. Fly you and that bad ass kite of yers to Florida during prime hurricane season.
2. Rig up on an ideal wind day. Preferably 50 mile an hour average wind speed with gusts into the 80s would work out perfect for that kite of yers
3. Get some random person - preferably with no kite experience to launch you. Place yer kite directly down wind of you. Have the person with no kite experience turn the kite leading edge up. And then yank hard on your two inside lines as hard as you can!!! F*ck lessons - this will get you up and riding in no time!!
4. Get someone else to take a video of you and then post on nwkite when yer done.
5. Let us know ahead of time so we can watch the evening news.
6. BTW - you should probably update your will to. that kinda shit is important.
Oh and don't bother thanking me for the step by step guide on how to kite.
