Hey our good friend and CGKA president Mark Barnes took a bad fall paragliding Tuesday. He broke his shoulder pretty bad and has been in the hospital since then. He had surgery on the shoulder and is on the mend now and looking forward to going home tomorrow (Friday.)

Get better soon Mark!

yeah I saw that. Was it really broke in three places?

In honor of our fallen comrade I will not make fun of Naish kites until he has fully recovered.

Get well soon Mark!!!

Hoping for a healthy and quick recovery for you bro!
Your VP has everything under control while your out Drunk

We'll have to have a talk with Bam bam about your 'incident'. I thought his nickname was only given to him for breaking equipment, not his wingman.

Now don't be giving him any ideas about how he can use this as an excuse during any of our kite sessions next year. "Oh, I probably would have really stuck that handle pass (or fill in the blank "_ _ _ _ _") if I didn't have these screws holding the three broken pieces of my shoulder together!" Pffffhhhhhshaw whatever..... Rolling Eyes

Really sorry to hear about that Mark!

For those of you who don't know, Mark's a great ambassador for the local scene. I got to meet and kite with him only on two occasions, but he couldn't have been more gracious or helpful.

Get better soon man...

Wow, really sorry to hear that Mark. Hopefully you'll have some badass bionic powers now. Did they put in any motors in there? Perhaps you can control your arm with your iPhone. Heal up quick!

Hope you are back to normal bionic kiter health soon.

All the limping GOOD soarers at the launches is what detered me from continueing the training.

There are a bit more consequences the more you challenge gravity....thats the fun part. Wink

Sorry to hear of these types of set backs.

ouch ,sorry to hear it ,
get well soon.

My expierence in soaring is somewhat the same,
having spent 15 years in Gliders, owning a 47-1 racing Sailplane for 10 years.

Ending up with several pals on crutches for life
and a couple dead ones, the appeal of defeating gravity was not so appealing.

Only when I thought about it
but hard to resist
such an awesome sport!
Soaring is the sport of aviation ,
statisticly the safest thing in aviation.
