Haha, sick pics!!! Stringer that is the most ridiculous photo I've seen in a while. Talk about keeping the kite high. Way to kill it strapless guys. Glad the wind held up for everyone.

Classic pics Colby! Impressive to watch these guys and gals get through Home Valley with no wind......and for some.....definite swimfest.

A friend told me he was pacing Cory from Viento to the Hatchery in his van at 45-50 mph.

Do you thing Cory had a GPS? It would be quite interesting to see what his top speed was.

Not sure of my true speed but can say a 13.5 and strapless in 30 mph wind was exciting!

Had Tony Bolstad pass me at the end. Over a series of 5 or 6 swells, He only touched the tops of two!!

Congratulations Scott!!

The home valley body drag session spelled doom to me. After several close calls I dropped my kite and watched the pack slowly sine their way into the distance. Any data on how many DNF's there were?

Thanks Nic for throwing a killer blowout! Thanks to the other volunteers as well!

Also big thanks to Pat who always kills it on jetski support!

I'm impressed the folks that finished did so well, there was neigh a whitecap around Home Valley, and somehow they made it through!

I would be one of those on the DNF list. I got a little cocky after passing a bunch of people heading down into the Homevalley stretch and then must have thought that I had super kite powers by flying over into the glassiest section of the narrows on the oregon side (what a dumbass!Embarassed ).
Did a little swimming, then some more swimming, relaunched Garretts kite for him in the middle of it all (you owe me a beer for that one, right?), oh yah... then a lot more swimming, all trying to get my kite back into some wind.
Phil and Henry came by to check on me and try to help me out. I was okay, so went back to trying to relaunch and then finally got my wits about me when 3rd jetskier came by (sorry, but totally forgot your name) and helped me make the right decision to pull the rip chord and swim into the beach.
Must have been sitting in the sun too long, cause after getting my gear all straightened out at the beach, I watched the wind for about 15-20 min's thought it might be filling in. Relaunched my kite and had enough wind to go upwind, so gave it another go heading downwind. Made it about 1/4mile and found that the wind was no longer. Learned my lesson and swam into the beach to hitch a ride.

Hiked it up to the road and was lucky enough to have Travis show up to pick me up for a ride back to town (he had seen me swimming in and made sure to keep an eye out for me). Thanks Travis, hope to be able to return the favor someday.

Was nice to show up at the Sandbar and be welcomed with a new t-shirt and a double patty burger. Gotta love the local love and local service.

Nicole ran a great event. Made a plan and stuck to it. It's definitely not easy running any event, especially one with as many logistics as this one.

Looking forward to next years Blowout. That's right Mark, rematch time!!!!
