"I can't believe what nerds we are, we're looking up money laundering in the dictionary."
edit: I just read the article Kodiak, good stuff... will have to try to work on that tonight.

Jesus Jim, ride whatever wheels you want. Sorry I chimed in on the issue I was only trying to help.
Slide your 78's then.

Monkey that article isn't about the wheels. I think they even said to learn on the harder ones. I agree with you that harder wheels are easier to slide and might buy some 83A.
I was just trying to post a link to a couple of great articles on the coleman slide and how to do it. I had specifically seen a couple of articles that said don't grab the board when learning to coleman slide because it will through your weight off balance. That was the point I was trying to get across.
I am going to stop at the skate shop in HR since I need to grab some elbow pads, might look at picking up an extra set of wheels.

I take it you have gloves already? I've got the plastic all cut for a pair of loaner gloves, just need to melt them on this evening. I would look at 83 or even harder. I think mine are 84 or 86 and to be honest, I wish I bought 75mm 88's or 90's.
Good middle ground would be newsckool 70 86a. I'm going to try and avoid the board grab. More of a crutch than anything for me. It is a cool feeling though to grab the board and lean WAAAAAAaaay over in a high speed turn. Also, I found that if I was going really fast I could put the hand out and slide the board on two wheels (lifting one side with my board hand). This isn't ideal but at least it prevented the wheels from grabbing- - which caused me to bail twice. Seems the softer the wheels, the more the chance to stick like that.
Anyways, Stevenson hills for sure. There are some nice hills out there and minimal traffic.
