I might be able to make it out later. Gman or Phil shoot me a text letting me know where you go. I am heading to the hospital soon to check on my friend. If any of you guys saw the news last night, this was a friend of my family. My uncle was living there as well, but thankfully wasn't home at the time.

Yeah he is doing a bit better. He broke his neck, leg, ribs, but he has movement in his fingers and toes so that is good news.

Lucky he didn't get burned. Looked like quite a jump. A broken neck is a bad thing.

Nice pics, Colby!

Jim, glad to hear your friend's doing okay. Ken told me about that today on our way out to the river. Guess he saw your buddy waving in the window when they arrived on scene.

Damn that sounds grim. I always soak my solvent soaked rags in water before tossing them. I always thought it was kind of an unnecessary step but perhaps not.

For what it's worth, skating the zoobomb was a blast!!! Only a small amount of skin and denim was left on the hill .

Cool glad you guys had fun. I was planning on heading out, but there was an accident on 26 so it took me too long to get hom. I will make the next run for sure.

"Firefighters said it appears the fire was caused when some stained rags were put in a garbage can on the deck and spontaneously combusted."-not really sure I believe this. Things don't typically spontaneously combust.

any kind of oily rags will combust very easily
but stains and varnish or teak oil is especially combustible.

We used to refinish our oak floor with teak oil and a large buffer
my wife put the rags in the wash and was going to wash them later in the day
if they hadn't been on FIRE!
luckily she came in the house just as they were smoking hot and flames had just begun Shocked
then there is spontaneous human combustion
which is another story Cool

If the contractor who built the deck left those rags in a can, he is in BIG trouble.
Like Blowhard said; It's well known throughout the building and painting industry
and has even been on 60 minutes.

It wasn't a contractor that was doing it. It is just odd that the rags had just been used to wipe the varnish and were just sitting there for a couple hours.

Anyway, this is a bit off topic so glad to hear that the zoobomb went well. We should plan on hitting that more often since its on my side of the city Smile

I am heading up to hood river tonight, probably hit mosier tunnels after I drop my dogs off at the kennel for the weekend.

think duct tape is more steazy

think I would trash the denim in the first five minutes - good idea though maybe will tape some extra kevlar fabric between the duct tape layers...

Unicorn Captain and Master - did really well charging the way, as well as the Strachman Prodigy - still thinkin Zoo bomb might be a better night time activity after that upclose and personal with crzy cab driver
