Any body know if they make a taller pump for kites. Us tall guys don't care much for that pump that come with the kite that is 14" tall. How about a 24" tall pump. One that pumps a little faster. Any internet stores that you can recommend. Or even local stores. Let me know. Pics. welcome. Thanks.

Try this

You'd have to retro the end to fit the kite.

There's also a 2' 6" one

come on guys , I'm serious. I don't mind haling around a bigger pump. A(little) bigger. I already own a compressor thanks. How about a hand pump. I'm not a midget. I want a bigger and faster pump. 24" tall will do.

That looks like exactly what he wants, but God damn... You could buy 2 electrics for that price.

try to get an ECLIPSE kite pump. There about 18-20" tall, I'm 5'11" and can stand upright while pumping.....super nice

there was an article in the Febuary 2009 issue, page 78 about this same situation. The article is about how to make your pump into a "megapump".

About $20 bucks worth of parts turns a 20oz paintball CO2 tank into a kite pump that will pump up your kite in about 30 seconds... Weighs about 3 pounds filled with CO2, & will fill an 11m and a 7m on one charge. Very Happy

Edited to add:

That Volo pump looks like it is using ambient air as well as CO2 to fill the kite? If so, very cool system.

What about getting a rubber hose for a regular kite pump - those damn plastic ones keep getting wholes in them. Anyone know where to get a rubber hose?

The Kiteboarder magazine recently had an article on modifying your regular pump.
While it uses your existing pump and doesn't pump your kite up any faster, your back will probably benefit the most because it raises the pump so you don't bend over as much.
Check out the Fuller Mega Pump in February 2009 PDF online page page 43 or if you have the actual magazine, it's on page 77.

Good luck with the pump selection.

Auto parts store or McMaster Carr

NSI and I released a hose kit that featured a 90 degree adapter with a pressure gauge and used a braided hose with machined brass fill a nipple. It was before any kite companies were offering gauges on their pumps. It's not for sale anymore but I still have materials on hand so if you want to stop by I'll make one up for you.
