Frenchy, I think bottom line is nobody makes what you're looking for. (Low priced anyway.) I'd love a pump even slightly taller than the new SS or LF pumps too. You gotta remember, the kite companies don't make these pumps, they buy off the shelf units. Tooling cost would be way to high to justify making their own pumps.

Your options:

1. Get one of the taller pumps like I mentioned. Take the top seal off of the piston and you'll probably be reasonably satisfied. This is the cheapest & easiest solution. GI Joes is probably selling these for $10 or $20.

2. Take an off the shelf pump & add an extension on the bottom. Pretty easy to do.

3. Get one of the spendy pumps.

4. Make your own pump.

5. Use a CO2 or compressed air inflator.

6. Get an Electric Pump.

You're right, pumping big kites is a pain. Way worse in '04 when kites didn't have the low end they do now. My main kite was a 19m fuel; made pumping up a 15m seem like a breeze. CO2 makes pumping up big kites a LOT more pleasant. Very Happy If you don't want to go that route, Try option 1 above. If that's not quite enough, add option 2.

Have fun!

It was the serial killer (Buffalo Bill?) from Silence Of The Lambs originally... Very Happy

Hey now, the silence of the lambs quotes are saved for Fokiten's barely comprehensible posts that I am quite sure he is typing out in front of his sewing machine while he stitches together his transsexual transformation costume form human skin.

Thanks Nak. I will modify one. I'll check out GI joe. I herd, they are going out of business. maybe I can get a deal. I don't know. It's not summer yet. Maybe they don't have them at this time of the year. I will find one. I'm saving money for a 9m. My next kite. 9m Rev.

hey Spork on kiteforum just attached a block of wood underneath the pump. As far as I remember it was basically just a block of wood. I guess the problem would be to hold the pump with your feet, I guess you can make a gap and the bottom.

When I had back problems I bit the sour apple and bought an electric pump. I like it a lot.

A.

I like the electric pump idea, but most places that I kite at, you have to walk a ways to get there. Electric only works if you are near your car.

Not so... Coleman makes a great little pump (about $25 at Wal-mart) that will fill the volume of a 15m kite in about 35 seconds. It won't pressurize the kite, but it will fill the volume. That's about 2/3 of the pumping... Not a big deal on a 7m, but a huge deal on a 15m. It's a rechargeable pump & not too big at all. It'll fill 4 or 5 kites on a charge.

ok, now I'm officially jumping on the your a cry baby bandwagon. Christ dude, its a friggin pump!! It accounts for maybe 2% of your time spent kiting, deal with it.
