Beginner friendly features would be sweet - just so long as they let my gojo in the mix!
About the timing of the not for profit status stuff - I am in my busy season right now until the end of february then I will taper off at work. Will be happy to help out in any way I can. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Lets keep it in perspective.
I'm a self proclaimed hater, even if it's 2nd grade. I think I'm justified in my opinion simply because of how I apply it and what I've already said. My opinion applies to these entities:
Myself first and foremost
Industry types
My friends who I ride with that want to progress
Online photos and videos with intent to promote a rider or product
The rest of you are just kiters and friends, and I don't spend my time thinking about how you ride. Please don't think I dislike you because of something as stupid as dangling or wakestyle. It is just a sport. |

Reading this some of you guys really crack me up. In my book if you have to hate on someone elses game regardless of the reason you are simply a poser. If someone is riding simply to impress others or have to hate if you personally arent impressed then you are in it for the wrong reason, if you enjoy your "style" regardless of what dicipline that is then do it, have fun, and spread the stoke not the hate. There are allready wayyyyyy to many judgemental people in the world
PS wave riding is superior anyway |

Andrew,
Thanks for the props. I had a great time kiting with you guys that week in Stevenson. You were killing it!
Joby,
Thanks for the hospitality at the Sand Bar and making us feel at home on the Slider Projects kicker. Nice shot of you in Kiteboarding and congrats on your return trip to the Triple S also. It's always a great time coming down with my son's and hanging out at the sand bar.
Good Stuff!

cant there be room for all styles? some days are better for me to jump, some are wake days, or sometimes i find myself on a sailboat heading down the wave fueled coast to mexico. i guess ill just progress a little slower than the rest by spreading my kite time 3 ways.
as long as somebody is giving it all they got, regardless of skill level or style, thats all i need to see from my fellow kiters.
i draw the line at kiting on a SUP board..... _________________ we are all here, 'cause were not all there |

I'm not really in a place to preach as I'm pretty new to wakestyle, but I am getting a feel for the cause.
This is how I understand it:
Its not about hating, its not about group a vs group b, its not about human nature to form groups, its not about coming down on someone because they're different.
Its about the image of kiteboarding being such that its not bound to the same fate as rollerblading and (dare I say) windsurfing.
Its not about imitating a style, its about style evolving and moving the sport forward toward legitimacy in the eyes of other sports and beyond.
Legitimacy is a big deal because if other sports see kiteboarding as lame, then they won't bring their influence to the sport to help it along in its evolution, causing kiteboarding to become stale and for the most part fizzle out.
The years wakeboard pioneers spent working on their style and tricks is a great place to find inspiration, but if you don't respect them and their style you lose legitimacy.
We all just love kiteboarding, and would love for it to be able to evolve and ultimately stick around.
I'm done.
I have to call it once I start to get frustrated over it.
Will Smith knows how I feel

As far as promoting the sport through wake style thats great, but if you have to knock others because you dont care for their style you lose all credibility and hurt the sport.
Building yourself up by tearing someone else down never works for the best.
But if you cant figure that out for yourself I guess there is no argument that will convince you otherwise, kind of like religion, politics or brand wars. |

Dangling is fun, there is no denying it!
Dangling is what you do to impress tourists, wakestyle is what you do to impress kiteboarders. I have fun doing both.
Unless you dangle like this, then you just make people shit their pants:
