must be a steep hill, and you just can't tell from the angle.

Its the hill right behind the MAC club and PGE park, 19th I think. I would not drive down it in the snow, its pretty steep.

Thats how I drive to work everyday!

The route not all the "death to everyone" driving powers

4wd and these all-weather nokians (made by Fins) do the trick - great handling on snow and ice (to a point then you fly off the road - wheeeeeeeeeeeeee)

If you're gonna post some Ken Block you gotta follow up with this bit. Insane! The best part's at the end if you don't have 3 minutes to spare.

Were they playing bumper cars in that video? I couldn't believe it was real for the longest time.

I loved the guy trying to bail out or was he trying to stop the car Flinstone style.

Pull up a couple folding chairs and a cooler and kick back for some good entertainment.

Ive been driving a 2wd chevy work van around the portland area all week and haven't chained up all week. It is really anoying to get behind a 4wd with chains on going 15 mph on wet pavement. Evil or Very Mad If you don't know how to drive in the snow don't.

Its even better when you see 4WD chain just the rear wheels. Yes your 4WD pickup has a ton of weight in the rear.

It's not stock. Didn't you see those wings they added for stability. Laughing

or perhaps Blizzaks,

Can anyone give a comparison between Blizzaks and studs? (Yeah I know this is a verses question - but maybe it can slide just this once Laughing )

Iv'e owned them both
blizzaks and nokias are fine but not as fine as studs.

My pal has a benz 4 wheeler with traction control and anti lockers
with new blizzaks,
Me in my ford 3/4 ton diesel 4X4 front anti-lock with 10 year old studs in the bachelor parking lot,
he could not out run me or out stop me
he is more than 4000 lbs lighter than me
would agree about the ability of the handling on the dry or wet,
steel is not good for either
The weather in Oregon is quite different than the very cold weather of the midwest were I was bumper to bumper in Detriot with ice on the road, going 80 and being passed.
I don't think there is anything slicker than a little thaw on ice which is very common around these parts

Maybe this is what we need:

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/03/30/america/Retractable-Studs.php

Blowhard, coincidentally I grew up driving a Cummings-equipped 1-ton F-350 SuperCab with studs in northeast winters... your Ford's going to walk away from his Benz (and just about anything else in the snow) with good ole-fashioned torque!

Just checked tripcheck.com and I-84 is open again... (for now). Heading to HR from the Beav after lunch (tentatively back Saturday or Sunday) if anyone needs anything.

I want to see you site your allegations.

I actually love my lesbian limo and her name is Ellen.

No joke.

My boss got a pair of Thule snow chains - he loves them. Super easy to put on and take off - and they are self-adjusting. So no need to get out and readjust them. THey were $120 bones - so more than the ones at like dealerships - but they seem to work great.

Here is the link to check them out: http://www.thuleracks.com/pdf/Thule_Snowchains.pdf
