Thanks, Carol and Tony, for bringing your RV out to the North Flats of SPI today! Thanks to your hospitality, our family was able to spend the day together at the beach. Our daughter, Sadie, thoroughly enjoyed your home on wheels while Denise and I took turns riding the 13-16m conditions. We hope you're enjoying a great meal about now. I am already in the painful throes of the aftermeal and staring down my yet to be eaten slab of apple pie. Hope to see you on a downwinder soon. Here's a view from your host site today...

Ethan

Thanks Ethan, glad you guys got out and enjoyed the day. Looked like Katie had some fun as well!

The wind wasn't blowing that hard but you really can't complain about a Thanksgiving where you get to wear board shorts, kite till you're tired, then hang out with friends drinking beer and snacking on chips and guacamole. And know that the neighborhood potluck is still waiting because all of your kiter friends are on the same schedule! None of that 2 or 3 o'clock meal time stuff when the wind is blowing!

We want to thank Brian and Tammie from Oklahoma who hosted a pot luck at their house. There were kiters from 6 different states and two countries represented. Lots of good food and stories to share.

This was one of those Thanksgivings where you get a chance to see all that you have to be thankful for and really enjoy the day. Hope everybody had an enjoyable holiday and maybe we'll see a few more of you down here next year!

Tony

Denny's was our back up plan as well! But we got off the flats in time to get dinner at Brian's.

Phil - we still have the condo, just sharing the motorhome with my parents. We're using it in the winter and they are using it in the summer. We had thought about staying in it all winter and renting the condo out but decided it would get a little small and make working a little difficult after a while. So we're going to use it on the weekends and take 4 weeks or so going up the coast on our way back to Stevenson in the spring.

Today turned out pretty nice after a slow start. Got to ride my 10m for a while then switched to the 12m after a couple of hours. Got schooled by Tekko. Lots of fun. Smile

Hein..
I dont think a public forum is the place to address this issue ???? I dont know you and I have met Sheldon down on the flats. Seems like a nice, stand up guy. I dont think it is appropriate to highjack this thread with your personal issues. Please take it somewhere else. It was really great seeing all the pics from the flats and then read your post Shocked Shocked

We lucked out again today! No waves to speak of so we went to the flats and pumped up the 14's. Got out for about 20 minutes then the wind died. Came back a little, tried to go out, then died some more. We were just starting to pack it in when it started coming up. Ended up having a 2 1/2 hour session that was lots of fun. Should have switched to a 10 or 12m but didn't want to waste time so stuck it out on the big kites.

No worries on the thread hijack - didn't realize there are some issues to be dealt with. But I'm on it - gonna see if I can get hold of Sheldon and kick some ideas around.

More pics in a day or so!

Tony
