Not a lot of wind today but the northerly has made for very clear skies. Got a couple of shots of the moon, Venus, Jupiter line up. Still too many settings on the camera I haven't figure out yet.

Drove out to Boca Chica today to familiarize Kim with the take out. Plan is to launch upwind of the north jetty, go around the channel where the sharks feed, ride the smooth waves of the south jetty and then gradually go downwind to where SH4 (Boca Chica Hwy) empties on the beach.
Just hope there isn't too much diesel fuel in the water from the shrimp boat that has been perched on the end of the south jetty for over a week. You'd think they have something big enough to yank that fucker free by now. Maybe the owner doesn't have enough insurance.

| Saw that the other night, thought it looked weird but didn't think much of it! Glad I got a chance to see it.

Didn't get to do the Boca Chica downwinder because it was just too offshore and those fickle north winds have a tendency to fade as things heat up.
So instead went downwind on the Laguna side with Carol. I pumped up my 05 9m Fuel while it was still windy and it felt a little big so I rushed back to the car to get my 7m Reactor. Should of stayed with the 9 but still had a fun run riding the hydroplane effect in the shallows. The wind continued to lighten as I passed the flats. Weird to be riding my skate with a 7 when folks are struggling to stay upwind with 12s and 14s and their uber flat rockered lightwind boards. I liked the way my skate works in the light stuff although it would have been much more fun to be bit more powered. Got a glimpse of my kicker stashed at a secret spot along the way. Stoked to see that it appears to have survived a hurricane. Maybe I'll be able to drag the bitch out and pop off it on the skate during the next norther.
Kim is heading home tomorrow. It's been awesome to have her for support. Sweet to get a kiss after she tosses my kite and to have her smiling face greet me at the take out.
