Very Happy OK, as a Republican I voted for Obama. Now, it's time for us to rediscover the roots of the Republican party. Individual liberty and responsibility. World leadership based on economic, military and moral strength. It's time we were the good guys again. Very Happy I hope Obama does well. I also hope the Republicans remember who they are and take back Congress in 2010!

I heard it was gorgeous there today. 70 deg. and sunny Very Happy

There are some great hikes into the Niagra Gorge on the Canadian side & the drive along the river from the Canadian falls to Niagra on the Lake is super nice if you get a chance.

Enjoy!

Dude, GW only has a couple of months left in office. He can't do too much more damage to the Constitution so don't worry too much. With luck and prayer, Obama will be up to the task of repairing the damage GW has done. If not, the Republican party will hopefully rediscover it's role as protector of that document, and not it's destroyer. In two years we should have candidates for office who care about the Constitution, Personal Liberty, and the American way of life. Ideally, the Republican party will see that competency matters as much as ideology. With any luck at all, we'll have candidates we can be proud to support! Very Happy

OK, I'm hammered! Very Happy

In all seriousness, we have a new President. Let's support him until such time as he proves we should not. We should all rally around him and support the decision the American people have made tonight!!!

Smile or keep it fun, like a sport, at least.

Best luck to everyone, we'll need it. But it's good to be moving forward.
Good winds to all!

I think its kind of funny that democrats still have this tax and spend sdtereotype but I do believe that president Clinton balanced the budget and handed the country over to GW with a budget surplus of 230 billion dollars, the largest surplus in American history. On october 8th of this year we broke a new record, the budget deficit is now 438 billion dollars. But don't worry, our current national dept is 10.5 trillion, yes trillion dollars.

Yes, all our taxes will likely go up, its called inflation (and lots of ballot measures for us OR folks). But ya know, kids need to go to school and the roads need to be fixed, etc, etc, etc.

I am pretty hopeful though, this really is a watershed moment in our nations history. I feel sorry for Obama and the current situation he is going to encounter. Hard to thin that GW could have f^&ked things up any worse than they are now. The writing has been on the wall for awhile now that as Americans, we need to change allot of the ways that we do things and see the world. Times are a changing and like any other animal on the face of this planet, we need to adapt.

I hope that big changes are afoot and I also hope that people can get out of their close minded or narrow view points long enough to give some changes a try. Many pivotal decisions in government were never popular at the time they were made but I think that truly great public officials hang on to their visions and weather the storm to make things happen.
