Hey guys, see it is possible to discuss politics if we all respect eachother and leave the unfounded inflammatory defamations out of the discussion.
Hamlin; if you want an honest discussion don't judge a person based on their name. Don't use cheap tactics to silence an "opponent", it is a relevant discussion, but use facts making your case.
I've had the pleasure discussion politics with Nak before, and I think it is so much more refreshing to have a discussion with someone you don't necissarily agree with, but you can respct for well founded and true opinions.
There are two things I don't like
1. Discussing with friends when we agree, since that would be like what goes on in that morning program on Fox where the guy claims the rep. VP nominee has foreign experience because she is from Alaska, and that state is close to Russia...
I also dislike having discussions, where unfounded claims are made, and your discussion partner tries to silence you by using strawmen, by diverting focus, or simply refuses to discuss with you as an equal...it seems many times the focal point of the discussion is to "win" the discussion instead of learning something from it.
I would not define myself in terms of party politics, but look at the case by case attitude, and then choose a candidate.
Ahh well in anycase, good luck in the upcoming election guys, use you vote...it does count.

This subject is the closest I have seen this forum come to a circle jerk.
I know I don't have to read it, but, I really wish you guys would go back to discussing kiteboarding. There are plenty of other forums for politics.

Can we go back to the Gilf issue - I just started reading this and realized - wholly shit - that's a GILF in the truest sense!! Haven't met too many of those.
Lets avoid all the real issues and talk about all the puff and bluff and hide behind all the propaganda and never have to really think for ourselves!!!!! So that way we will have more time for wind chasing!!

this thread has been enligthening and encouraging.... educate yourselves about the issues, don't be sucked in by mainstream media polls/spins/lack of all around coverage, and get involved this year. Your vote has never been more important.
