Nak,
honestly, you made my day. i think a lot of people are worried about this country. But its really inspiring (seriously) to hear some who identifies themself as a republican speaking so openly about the demise of the party. this is not a year to vote the along party lines.

I am a conservative Republican, and I share Nak's view on this as well. Our country is at a turning point with two poor options. Educate yourselves and vote accordingly, but make sure you vote so your voice is heard. _________________ MS |

Nicely said Nakatola. Both "poor options" are on the Republican side, let's be clear about that. McCain used to be true to the principles of the original Republican party but in recent years has aligned himself with Bush and other ulta-cons - which is amazing and shameful when you consider how Bush mistreated him when he was a presidential candidate. Nak sounds like a true republican (ya know, like the ones that freed the slaves) and that party hasn't had a good candidate in years. Neither have the Democrats until now IMHO. Obama is intelligent, humane, and has a better understanding of the current world we live in. He is saying things not heard since John Kennedy....... things like Americans are gonna have to sacrifice and calling out the neo cons on their BS while not lowering himself to insults.......unlike 9-11 poster boy Rudy G who was an even bigger ass than normal at the convention. Republicans will spend the next couple months hiding behind catch phrases and false accusations and waving their flags and wearing their pins and not talking about anything relevant to the country and world today. Think about your vote and consider voting for a party that is closer to the original Republican principles than the Republican party......the Democrats! My true fear is that those catch phrases actually woo the American public into voting for McCain. I mean they did vote Bush into office for a second term, so that alone should tell you the average American doesn't have much upstairs. |

Nak,
As a tree hugging, granola eating, born in Berkeley liberal--I wish you were running.
You have my R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
I am hopeful that Obama can turn things around.

Sarah Palin the ‘Earmark Queen’ of AK Left Wasilla $20 Million in Debt
http://www.americanprogressaction.org/issues/2008/palin_earmarks.html
Is this fiscal conservatism that the GOP prides itself on? Listening to her speech I realized it was Cheney all over again, speaking the same divisive and false rhetoric of fear from 2000 and 2004.
In McCain's speech I saw the same dark promise of Bush regarding reaching across the party aisle- "I am a uniter not a divider." (Bush 2000)
A compassionate conservative George promised to be. Where was the compassion during Katrina? He was delivering a birthday cake to McCain the day the hurricane hit New Orleans.
McCain has voted 90% with Bush the last 8 years. Is 10% enough change for you? _________________ www.lancekoudele.com |

Nak, really well said, very courageous and informative post.
But from my perspective, what do I get for the eight years of going through the f#^&* ups you talk about other than having a few cheep shots at the bastards that perpetrated it? And to the boot I am going to pay for it with the real money when the next guy takes the office. Mud slinging and all the immaturity surrounding the current political environment might seem, well, immature, but this is the only recourse I feel I have left at my disposal to maintain my sanity. So again, I appreciate and respect your open and thoughtful post, but .... if to so many people think she looks so good you could F%^&* her, let's f^&** her and her running mate too, comes this November. _________________ just wear sunscreen |

Nak gets my respect in a huge way.
I have met very few republicans that are willing to swallow their pride and admit that Bush and his cohorts have done this country a world of hurt. Way to go on painting a picture of some of Bush's deceit, you should write more some time. It is great reading even if it is a stark contrast from our passion of kiteboarding. |
