As opposed to a closet racist who says, "Let's sit down and talk things over, real nice like", with a maniac who calls for the genocide of any nation they don't like, while openly manufacturing nuclear weapons? Oh and while we're at it, let's depend on our oil supply coming from hostile nations? Oh and don't forget, let's lay down our guns and be nice when some crackhead comes to visit your fam with his "illegal" gun, grabbing your stuff and killing you for a rush.
That's about as brilliant as someone posting a picture of "dump truck tits" of some unknown person on a Palin thread. Umm....maybe you didn't notice that hers aren't that big?
This is getting too political and non-kiteboarder productive. As Barry Hussien would say, "Jee willickers fellas, can't we all just get along?" _________________ (>====<|> ---< |

and for todays news:
Sept. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. lost more jobs than forecast in August and the unemployment rate climbed to a five-year high of 6.1 percent, a sign that the economic slowdown is worsening two months before Americans elect their next president.
Payrolls fell by 84,000 in August, and revisions added another 58,000 to job losses for the prior two months, the Labor Department said today in Washington. The increase in the jobless rate sent the misery index, which adds unemployment to inflation, to 11.7 percent, the highest level since 1991. |

Faith, Hope, & Love. But the greatest of these, is Love
Let's face it gang, we're up "the Willamette" no matter who gets the job.

OK, I gotta chime in before it's locked. I just can't help it.
I'm a staunch Republican. Ronald Reagan was a great president . He won the cold war and removed the threat of world wide nuclear war. I flew the airborne command post, part of PACCS. The one plane I flew could Destroy the entire world. One Airplane. It's mind boggling even 25 years later. I will forever be grateful to Ronald Reagan for ending that threat.
George Bush should be impeached for dereliction of duty and Treason, just to name two charges.
George Bush sat on his hands while New Orleans drowned. He, and he alone, could have ordered air support to bring water to those people. ONLY the president can order the military to take action within our borders. It's the law. I know for a fact that numerous military airlift wings loaded food and water onto their aircraft, in anticipation of the order that was sure to come. It never came. George Bush allowed a truck convoy to be dispatched which arrived Friday. Air support could have dropped supplies on Tuesday morning at the latest. George Bush knew this, and did not order air drops of supplies. You tell me why.
George Bush commuted Scooter Libby's sentence, and will Pardon him on January 20, 2009. (You know he will.) Scooter Libby "outed" a CIA agent in a time of war. For those of you who don't understand how the intelligence community works, that outing almost certainly resulted in the deaths of dozens of agents working for America around the world. The government (CIA) can't even discuss that because such discussion would reveal capabilities and even more agents. (Very long story.) One wonders if Scooter Libby did this on his own, or under orders? One also wonders why George Bush would commute his sentence? It doesn't take much of an analysis to reasonably conclude that George Bush is pardoning Libby in exchange for his silence. Can't prove it, but I can know it.
Even if you support the war, it is apparent that the Bush administration has bungled it badly. I could go on for hours on this subject.
I travel the world frequently. I see a lot. Anyone who believes that Bush has made America safer is sadly mistaken.
America faces a huge challenge. The next President must begin to repair the damage that the Bush administration has done to America. As a Republican myself, I don't believe that John McCain can do that. He is too old and beholden to the ultra right wing of the party. The Republican party, and all politicians, must see that the American people will not stand for the erosion of their rights and the defiling of America. The Republicans must lose power as a consequence of their actions.
I don't know that Obama is up to the challenge. I truly hope that he is, because McCain isn't. By the way, why do you suppose that McCain is the nominee and why is Palin his running mate? The Republicans know that a Democrat will be the next President, and no one who has a real future in national politics wants to be on the Republican ticket. That's a political reality.
I don't want to offend anybody here, that is not my intent. I fully support your right to believe and act as you will. As a Republican who has voted for 1 Democrat my entire life, I do ask that you look at what Bush has done with an open mind. (Yes, to my eternal shame, I voted for GW the first time around. ) No, the Democrats have not been much better. But we have two choices here. Four more years of a party that brought us the "Patriot" act, or the hope that a candidate relatively new to Washington can help us remember that America is great again.
I honestly believe that Ronald Reagan would vote for Obama. |
