If anyone wants to try some different inflatable flying things I will have some North Rebels and Rhinos out at Sauvies this afternoon. Blake and Brian from Gorge Performance will be out there with SUP boards and some other kites as well. Should be out there by 3p, possibly earlier if breeze starts sooner. You can PM if you'd like to meet up sooner. Steve B

Airnet doesn't have much faith, but ikite thinks there's a chance. If anyone can post an on site report that would be awesome! Don't forget to check the tides too so you're not floating downwind.

Here are the tides for today. Guess early bird gets the worm. Looks like after 7pm will be a struggle. Also, Jones should blow so that's another option.

Yup, system is moving a bit faster than predicted so Stevenson might be an alternate site for light wind demos but keeping fingers crossed for Sauvies. HR is already blowing 12 W. Very Happy

Haha, nice one Spike!

Also, don't forget your retractable beating stick in case you have to "fend off" any "attackers".

From my experience it does not shut down. Its always been windy when I left.

Can the Demo folks make it out to Jones? I'm thinking of going...

It can definitely start shutting down, but that doesn't usually happen until close to dark. I've kited there until 8:30pm before w/o problems. Just make sure to come back to the Oregon side once it's late and the wind starts coming down. You don't wanna be stuck out there in the dark.

Diggy, days like today there are no rules for when it shuts down. There are weather cells moving through so it will up and down everywhere. Jones will likely be too windy for 14's and 16's and it's a bit of a hike for unpredictable wind. I'm stocked with only big kites for demo today but you can PM me anytime if you wanna try other sizes or call my cell 503-886-9866. Steve Very Happy

Sauvie looks Sucky today and for the next few. Crying or Very sad

Jones? Light to iffy, iffy you ask me. Looks like it's hitting 10mph now and then. But then again, Jones was supposed to be bad yesterday, but looks like it was pretty good.

Oh, and if Naked Ambush Tech is being taught nearby, don't cover your mouth when yawning, as the gesture may maybe misconstrued.

That is definately true some of the time; however, I have been out there when the sensor read 8 knots and it was definately 8 knots of wind.
