Jones sensor always seems to be on the low side - usually add 10
That is definately true some of the time; however, I have been out there when the sensor read 8 knots and it was definately 8 knots of wind.
Your ankle weights most likely were restricting/distorting your sensory in-take. Listen to the "VETS" of the trade, they know what they are talking about. _________________ Shhhhhhhhhhhh. . . |

I think Jones has a good chance. The clouds are moving East. It's already at 10.5 mph, and the Astoria to PDX pressure gradient went from .02 to .05 West and will hopefully keep increasing. Yesterday it didn't come up til later as well. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

| 3:40 Jones onsite report: about 10 knots right now. 8 or 9 kites rigged up, no one riding. It might come up, the smoke stacks out west are laying prettty flat... |

I'd bet on it going there, 20 degree difference between Astoria and PDX.... pressures increasing.
Just body drag over to the Washington side, its usually blowing 10+ more over there. |

Pkh called it right. About 4:30 it picked up to 13 or 14, then an hour later it was pretty solid 9m to 11m winds. Still blowing strong at 7:30 when I left. Current was going the wrong way, but there was enough wind to make up for it though. You can't wait for it to come up at Jones before you head out...
Gorgeous day at Jones. |
