I am troubleshooting my 07 waroo. If you have experience riding these kites please pm me and let me know what you think about power charactoristics/steering response when sheeted out.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

What sort of issues are you having? What is the kite doing/not doing? What size kite is it?

Hi Chip,

I have quite a bit of experience with '06 & 07 Waroo's and '08 Nemi HP's. I kite in Stevenson 95% of the time and can help you out with tuning if you come here to kite.

Biggest issue I see with tuning is either back lines way too loose or way too tight. Generally, you should be hooking up to the 3rd or 4th knot in on the back line bridle. If the kite is falling down backwards on the upstroke or wants to back up while coming across the window your lines are too tight and you need to go out a knot farther away from the kite.

If your kite is flapping and doesn't seem to want to turn at all even with the bar pulled way over your lines are too loose and you either need to sheet the bar in, pull the re-power strap some, or move your back lines a knot closer to the kite.

One other big tuning issue I see with a lot of people is not inflating the leading edge nearly enough. Don't be afraid to put some air in it!

I ride 07's.. what's it doing? What knots & bar? How are your line lengths? My only problem is in light wind not rigging the knots aggressive enough and the kite is slow and underpowered.

I found that my 2007 Waroos would not steer well when fully sheeted out. This meant that when riding overpowered, it was extra hard to steer the kite. You would have to pull the bar in and power up before you could steer. I found that dangerous and frustrating.

Thanks for your input guys.

Yea I agree with Jonah...but I am not super experienced to know for sure.

I am running stock line lengthes that come with a 45cm bar and putting it on the 2nd knot. I have been pumping it up till it "ping's" when I flip my knuckle into it.

I will try different knots and pumping it up further. Will that solve the problem the Jonah and I have noticed?

WHat do you other Waroo riders think?

Sounds like you need to go up to the 3rd knot. Unless you're taking it out way overpowered I haven't seen a stock bar set up fly well on the 2nd knot. Go to the 3rd or 4th then take any excess power out of the kite using the depower strap.
