Very flat water and strong, steady wind.
Bring your wetsuit - at least a thick shorty. Warm air, cold water.

The event is open to non-canadians so get up here and compete.

If you haven't heard, the HWY99 to Squamish is currently closed due to a badass rockslide.
It should be cleared in time for the event, but make sure you check before you drive up.

Hi Squamish Windsports Society Members!

This is an email update of the upcoming Canadian Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Championships at the Squamish Spit.
See attached poster.
Come check it out, or be a part of the competition events!
The Spit will still be open for all members to get out there to kiteboard and windsurf. We ask that you please be mindful of the competitors.

The Schedule
The competition event starts with a Meet and Greet Registration Night on Thursday evening at 6pm – 8:30pm at the Howe Sound Brew Pub. Come on out to meet and chat with other competitors and spectators over nibblies and beverages.
Registration continues at the Spit Friday morning from 9 – 11 am.
Competitions begin Friday at noon - or when the wind starts - and continue to Sunday.
The events end with a closing Awards Ceremony at the Howe Sound Brew Pub.
Skippers’ meetings will be held Fri, Sat and Sun mornings at 11 am at the spit for both Windsurfing and Kiteboarding teams.

Competition Events
Kiteboarding: racing/boardercross and freestyle – with best tricks, crash and air
Windsurfing: slalom and race courses and freestyle

Weather Update
So far, Friday poses to be the best day weather-wise.

What You Can Do
Enter the competitions or come view the action!
Buy a Tshirt: At registration $12 (or at other times: $15).
Buy a Squamish Windsports Society Hoody – We will be selling them cheap so you can be warm while looking cool at the Spit.

Cost to Enter
Each competition event costs: $25. You get 1 ticket for beer and 1 ticket for BBQ
You can register Thurs night and Friday morning, or send your registration via email to casey.armstrong72@gmail.com (see attached Registration/Waiver Form). Competitors will still need to sign the waiver portion of the form during registration Thursday night or Friday morning.
