Kiteboarding 4 Cancer: Aug 8-10
Kiteboarding 4 Cancer is less than 2 weeks away and here's what happening!!!

The Events!
Kiteboarding events include a 6-hour Kite Derby Endurance Course Race and the World’s 1st Long Jump. Register as an athlete or as an athlete raising money for the cause.

• Top Fundraiser for total dollars in donations: Slingshot Kiteboarding quiver package with complete board, travel bags, and apparel.

• Top Long Jump Finisher: Best Kiteboarding kite and surboard package!
• Top Fundraiser for total quantity of donations: Jimmy Lewis Standup Paddle Board with Quickblade "Kanaha" Carbon Paddle and travel bag.

The Silent Auction & Raffle!
• For our raffle, we are giving away a $1000 Travel Voucher compliments of Hazel Phillips Travel in The Dalles! Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the KB4C booth at the Volunteer and Athlete Dinner friday night and again on event day.

Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers get a KB4C STAFF shirt, Free BBQ Friday night, lunch and beverages on Saturday, and free entry to the after-party Saturday night at the River City Saloon! Here's the full volunteer list of needed positions and shifts. Guaranteed fun and very rewarding.

Any events specifically for kiteboarders with cancer? This could demonstrate that there's some of us who continue riding as a way of to keep stoked and continue the fight. Just curious.

Yes, the Kite Derby and the Long Jump events are for everyone, including those with cancer. We have yellow ribbons to put on kites of those cancer survivors participating in the kiteboarding events. Pick them up at registration on Friday or Saturday morning.

Kiteboarding Long Jump... another KB4C first!!

In the effort to keep KB4C fresh and exciting for both participants and spectators.. we have conceived, along with KB4C event MC and coordinator- long jump idea man- Neil Hutchinson this long jump event.

Just like in a track meet.. there will be a line for takeoff... and furthest distance markers marking landings. Furthest distance marker will keep moving back as a new record is set.

What ever you can do to get there....

This is the creative part. Try new things, jumping, looping, unhooked, overpowered, WHATEVER!!!

The prizes are good, and the show for the spectators will be priceless!!

But wait... there's more!!

GoPro Camera is giving away their new Wide Angle Pro Cameras to some of the top 3 finishers in each category!! The Wide Angle Pro has not even been released, so winning kiters will be given a certificate to receive one shipped directly from the company headquarters when the product comes out in late August.

If you're not familiar with them, the GoPro Cameras are video, still, and sequence-capable cameras housed in a tiny little box smaller than the dimensions of a business card. They put out excellent image quality and sound. They can shoot up to an hour of video. They have helmet-mounts, board mounts, wrist mounts, and a mount that even works beautifully on the center strut of you kite. I can vouch for that -- I tested it! I can tell you that every kiteboarder will want one of these to go along with the narcissist in all of us!
