Sorry for the ad-like announcement here, but if you have teenagers who are not kiteboarding yet, read on. This is great (and cheap) opportunity to get your kids into the sport.

Skamania Parks & Rec's Teen Adventure Program, along with Tonia Farman and Cascade Kiteboarding (that's me!) are putting on 4 series of Teen Kiteboarding Camps this summer for kids ages 14-18. The program gets kids off the XBox and in the outdoors, subsidizing some of the costs to make it affordable for kids to get into kiteboarding. I believe it's only $200 for the 3-day camps if you're a Skamania resident, and not much more for outside residents. That is super cheap for 3 days of lessons!!

There are two sessions left this summer with space still available:

1. July 28-30 (Ground lesson and 3 day camp)

2. August 18 (Ground lesson), August 25-27 (3 day camp)

This program is similar to what Renee Hanks used to do with the Parks & Rec kids, but I'm teaching with a waverunner, away from East Point Launch, and with new 2008 4-line SLE kites versus older 2-line Wipikas. (Sorry, Renee! I know how much you loved those kites!)

For more information, check out http://www.cascadekiteboarding.com/blog/ or call Laila at Skamania Parks & Rec: 509-427-3977. She has exact costs for the program.
