Calling all riders!!.........everyone!!..........please feel free to show-up at Stevenson and ride on Friday (25th) in the afternoon for the Bridge of the Gods Kiteboarding Festival Photo/Video Contest......the more, the better for the Photographers. You do not need to be a Saturday freestyle contestant to participate. Just find one of us (Dave, Gary, or Steve) and we will give you BOTG stickers for your board which needs to be visible in the photo. We will be around all day setting-up. There may be some swag for the riders who prove themselves as the most photo-worthy. We have 4 photographers signed-up so far.....hopefully more to come. We will probably start in the afternoon and go into the evening so the folks getting off work can make-it........then off to the Bolstad's!!

Tony and Carol,

Chime in here for details to the Tiki Party.

I know that it is BYOB and we are having an accoustical music jam.

We need directions to the house.

Here's the directions for now. Carol will post up party info later on this weekend.

Basically, from Joe's El Rio, head east, turn left at the Chevron station, right at the top of the hill, (follow the Paw prints in the road), left at the first Y, right at the second Y, (stop following Paw prints), left (almost a U turn) at the top of the hill, right on Stewart just after the Fire Station, follow the road to the top of the hill, go right at the driveway at the end of the cul-de-sac. Park. Party.

Edit: one request - please drive slowly on Stewart road so you don't get the neighbors upset with me. Thanks!

If you get lost on the way up give us a call: 509 427-7672.

ps: if anybody is worried about driving after the party we have plenty of room if you want to pitch a tent in the yard or crash in one of the lounge chairs by the pool.

Tony

So when is the photo/video work due?
The dabride site says saturday morning, but what time-ish?
I don't have a laptop for on site editing.

Also, does digital format mean disk or flash drive or what?

I think early afternoon will work......we will try to give enough time to go home and edit......We will have concrete times set on Friday. Gary will send an e-mail to those who are registered for show-up time. Expect that today.......

There was some question about whether pro photographers could submit as well? Or maybe have two different categories?

Just got a new camera, would love to come out and play, but I thought we had to edit on site, and I don't have a laptop to use for editing. If we don't need to turn them in until Saturday I could try my severly ameturish hand Smile

ALso what time would we have to get there, some of us poor shlubs still have to work on Fridays Sad

I have that "job" thing so can't make it on friday but wanted to shoot vid on saturday. Should I bother to register if I wanted to hang out down by the rock or perhaps in the water with my camera?

No need to edit on site unless you want to (we can possibly provide some power......my RV will be parked there.....welcome to use it here as long as you don't mind the organizers stepping around you.).......you will need to submit on Saturday, which will give you Friday night to edit. We will try to keep this as uncomplicated as possible. Make it fun.......if you have suggestions, please let me know.......
We figured it will start whenever the wind cooperates.......you may shoot anytime on Friday......I will try to get as many folks with stickers on their boards as possible......limited to 90. Basically, the shot needs to have the sticker visible......not necessarily detailed. This provides proof the shot was taken on that day. Submit your 5 best photos for Judging........however, please have more for the slide-show.

I do have a question though...... How much time would you like for editing?? Since the slide-show isn't until dusk, we have some time for judging. Would Saturday afternoon work?? Lets say, 2pm??

As far as the pro-vs-am question, since this was an amateur competition, we would keep it that way for the Photographers.....however, this is a difficult designation whether you are pro or not. We thought if you make your primary living as a photographer, you are not eligible. Otherwise, you can.........we do need judges though....any pros want to judge, please call me.

Oh yeah....Format?

As long as Gary can open the file on his mac and I on my pc......all is good......JPEG would probably work the best whether it is on an CD or flash drive.
