I second that thought. He was going big when all the gear was old school. Great vid.

100% agree about Lou.
...and the Beastie Boys funk jam on the video.

Lou's old videos from 1999 still have more style than what's going on now. (Flow the video)
I once saw some old videos of him surfkiting without a harness.

And an unhooked, one handed, boost....hanging from one arm....floating across kite beach bay.

Pure.

Lou Reed, even though not crushtanic in a purely metal sense, is BoneCrushTanic in the White Light/White Heat sense.

...Focus on the giant white oxycontin tomorrow:

hey, now although I do have respect for what he did way back when...but why does so many seem to worship the guy so much still. I get the historical aspect, but some of the threads on kiteforum..I am sure they have not even seen the guy ride...I mean..he has not done anything the past...oh well let's say 6 years or so.

Anyone care to enlighten me (leave the historical things out)?

Oh and as far as I could see, the rider in the clip is the one of those Maui kids (the bigger brother?).

To me Lou is kind of like Bode Miller--outside the box, super talented, and marches to his own beat. Pretty cool, in a "not trying to be cool" way, I suppose.

you saying first to do it owns the trick? In that case everyone style bites off lou. Bet Josh didn't even know what kiteboarding was when lou first did that.

Umm - what the hell is 'kiteforum' Wink Twisted Evil ? I've seen Lou kite, and the guys got style. SR is a great kiter too, and his style easily stands out as his own. The above video is no exception. I've seen some video, but don't exactly know about what LW has done in the last few years. The guy seems to be pretty low profile. His past exploits are a good part of why I think he is BAD A$$. I'm not sure what I think about the fuzzy bunnies tho Confused .
