That's crazy, Nicole! I could totally imagine you talking to this drunkie about his bag. lol. Should have followed him back to his "spot" to see if he was using a Roo as a tent or sleeping bag. |

perhaps, but you still have to make the tractor..out of metal, that is mined, transported and forged, and built by people that drive to work, and painted with petrochemicals, and then shipped by rail and truck to the dealer.. and so on and so forth.
Have you guys every watched how its made? It's a cool show but I am absolutely blown away by the amount of energy and resources that goes into manufacturing the simplest things. There was almost a whole factory being used just to make licorice. All thsoe machines that have to be made, transported, run, maintained...just to make some licorice.
Spike, there is also a great deal of oil in fertilizers... |

Very interesting to see a homeless dude with a waroo bag.
Sucks about that Rev, we will keep an eye out for it. |
My 07 waroo 11m was stolen, and I really think a homeless dude stole it! It's pretty quiet in my neighborhood except for a few homeless dudes.
Well, if you see him again, tell him to take a lesson first.
Can you PM me and tell me which TJs? Thanks... I wonder if the kites still in the bag. |

I've got parents that are having to choose between food and gas to go to work. When you make minimum wage and your supporting a couple of kids it's not going to pencil out.
Food prices are going up as well due to the cost of diesel. It's going to change how we live.
Can you say mass transit? Europe has incredible light rail and buses to get around town. We, the US, are going to have to take a look at public mass transit.
The next big problem is going to be water. We NW'ers don't have to worry about this but the 16000 golf courses that consume massive amounts of water are going to be a thing of the past. I heard on NPR that if you took all of the golf corses and added them up they would be the size of Delaware! It takes a ton of water to keep em green.
Water is the next nonrenewable problem on the agenda.

Hey Dancingwind,
Super Sorry you got your REV lifted. You might try your homeowners insurance or Renters insurance.
I had a mtn bike stolen out of the back of my truck a couple of years back ( they cut the cable lock) and it was my homeowners insurance that cut a check to me.
Hope you get the kite or money back. |

I would use your home owners insurance as a last result unless you don't plan to purchase a home in the next 4-5 years. I made a claim on my rental/travel insurance in 1999 and in 2003 when I was buying a house, 3 companies rejected me before I could get insurance on the house my wife and I bought.
Insurance is THE biggest racket out there. no big deal if your not going to buy a house, but if you are, your additional premiums will equal 3 or 4 kites in the first 2 years of insurance. |

Per the suggestion I will be calling Gresham Police Dept to inquire about the Task Force.
I did buy renters insurance last summer when I invested heavily in 2 brand new kites. I filed a claime a couple of days ago and had to explain to the agent what is a kite is in relation to kiteboarding and why it can cost so much, as she was quite suspecious when I dropped the total value, $1449, of a 9m slingshot Rev on her! I hope I was convincing enough!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
To all of you out there you might want jot down your beloved or brand new kites serial number and store it somewhere safe! Cops said these numbers can help a ton track a kite if it pops up nationwide. Definitely register your spendy toys!!! |

Hopefully it works out in the end! Good luck.
Everytime I get a new kite, I take a pic of the serial on the bag's tag and also of the actual serial on the kite. So far I've been lucky, but I definately think it's good to have if this stuff comes up. |

Kataku called it. I had a renters claim that I filed a few years back and the pics of my stuff seemed to smooth the whole thing over. Got a nice check for bike, stereo, etc.
Re: the price of kites - don't argue with the agent, just give her the number of a kite shop and have the rental agent call them. Call the kite shop ahead of time and explain what's going on - if they know you are going to spend the insurance money on a kite in their shop they will be motivated to take the time explaining what it was exactly that got stolen and why it cost so much. (Don't expect them to lie for you - insurance fraud is a whole nother deal). I got the impression that this is a common way to verify pricing for unusual and expensive items. _________________ If you feel sleepy you need to be driving faster. |

No way was I fighting him, he was so dirty and nasty looked like he rolled in mud like 3 years ago and didn't bath since then plus there was no kite in that bag for sure. Just a gross sleeping bag. I should of called the cops and had them come out but I doubt they would of come anyway. I have had like 2 cars broken into and they never come out. |
