| Looks awesome and I am feeling the homesickness now. I am in a low wind debaucle here in Vietnam and trying to find a place to rent gear other than an old school 14m tatered c kite with parasailers and about 4000 Vietnamese swimmers to avoid. Looks cool. Will there be some possibilities next month, as I am ready for some consistent kiting so don't get burned out on it. |

Great post....great pics. Play all summer and fly right into winter.
What is your distance estimate on the hike and could you kite in possibly? |

4 mile sled ride in, then a 35-45 minute hike, but we think it will be well worth it. We hesitaded checking it out in the first place because we didnt know how far the hike was. We now know!

More Snow tonight. Just won't quit.
Can't wait to hook up with you guys. I wanna go. Is that any where near TAM? What elevation is that at?
BTW, to all who are thinking about snowmobiles, if you are not a mechanic, or wealthy, snowmobiles are probably not for you. Continuous maintenance and dilgence to the condition of your sled is required. Breaking down sucks and it happens, and the older the sled the more likely it is to happen. It is not cheap for parts and the Pro's want good money to do the work, so being able to do it yourself will save enough money to afford the fuel. Having a buddy is also a mandatory part of snowmobiling. You can go in 5 minute what could take 5 hours of post holing out. Being able to ride double out or possibly tow your machine is something you can expect to happen. Also having all the backcountry gear and knowledge could save your life. Plan for the worst and expect the best. |

Well put Brett!
We actually had our first breakdown all winter, last weekend and had to be prepared to troubleshoot and a 4 mile TOW OUT. Never go in with only one sled and the more buddies the merrier. |
