I'm sure your lady friends would agree that 5cm can make a BIG difference.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I went with the LF WLF 145. It is supposed to arrive in like two days. As soon as Sauvies blow I'll give it a test run and then give a review of it as a light wind board.

So I finally got to try out my WLF 145.

It worked out well for SI - I really like the board. When I first got started riding it took a little bit to get used to - it feels big - not bulky, just big (probably because it is big).

I was able to cruise upwind just fine - I'm sure the current had a lot to do with that.

Landing was very smooth and soft - the width made it pretty easy.

Plaining was also pretty easy.

Its a good board for light winds. And 145 was the right size for me at 190 pounds.

Moto..

Good lookin WLF you have there!! Glad you are stoked on it. Sorry I could never hook up for a demo.. but I'm glad you found you way to it anyways!

You have pointed out positive experience of it performing as designed... we didn't want to get into the glide or spleen door niche.. where, when all you can do is mow the lawn.. then maybe you should go home and mow the lawn.. so you can go kite when it's actually windy tomorrow..

Seriously though. It was designed to be a fun riding capable freeride board that you can jump and throw down on when it's too light for your normal board.

I rode one without fins on some slider stuff in baja this winter and it was awesome! Very skaty.. sliding all around but smooth and still able to set an edge and cruise upwind.

Enjoy the new ride!!! Thanks for supporting Liquid Force!! (and hopefully picked it up at and supporting a local LF shop that supports the community like Gorge Performance or 2nd Wind Sports)

That is exactly what I was looking for - I considered the spleen and the glide - but i wanted something more versitile - and thats exactly what I got.

If someone wants to demo it just let me know - I'll be bringing it with me to SI this season.

So after I busted my trusty SX (on Forrest's head) I finally decided to go with a recoil comp 137.

I got to try it out today for the first time at Sauvies (6/28/0Cool.

The board is super sweet!! The first thing I noticed was that It is a very forgiving board - when I came down hard the board has a very soft landing - it displaces a lot of water - I was amazed at the soft landing - and couldn't figure out how they managed to design a board like that, but I noticed the big splash of water after hard landings - sort of like a sumo wrestler doing a belly flop - haha, not quite, but close Laughing

cutting up wind was super easy. It felt really good.

It has a ton of pop. Also, Its easy to manuever in the water - so it should be well suited for wake style tricks.

I was also concerned about the amount of float the board would have - it is a very light board and I'm a 190 pound rider. The board has a good amount of float - so I'm set on that aspect of the board. Don't have to worry about sinking in the water - which buys me time on a not so good landing.

One of the reasons I bought the board is because I heard it was good in the chop - there wasn't much chop to test it on today - so I'll have to post back when I go out to the spit.

I'm super stoked about the board!! Overall I got to give this board a thumbs up Thumb's Up

I'm super stoked about both of my boards - the WLF is a great light wind board - and even though I haven't tested the Recoil in all conditions - it is shaping up to a super sweet all around board. I'm still considering adding a couple of more boards to my quiver (I don't want my boards to get lonely) - maybe a board for the coast and board for nuking conditions. For nuking conditions - maybe a Misfit in the 129 ish range. and the coast - I'll probably have to go with a fuse.

If anyone wants to demo the recoil or WLF - just hit me up - I'll be happy to let you check it out. I'll have it with me pretty much every where I go this season.
