I've been flying T2's and I got to tell you that I love them. The first generation of T1"s was fast, but the inversion thing was wierd. Still the T1's were the kite that made it happen for me. I'm an old slightly athletic wanabee kiteboarder who drinks too much IRA and that's the fact jack.
So, the next year roles out the T2 and I'm all in with a 7, 9, 11, and 14! I was in heaven. Every kite was perfect with the exception of the 9 at the high end. I broke through and started doing tricks, all hooked in, backs fronts, down loops, and big really big air.

So here is my question:

Should I go with the 08Rev or the 08T3? Very Happy

Try and Rev and a T3 then decide for yourself.

The CGKA has a demo day scheduled for the 14th of June at the Spit.

If you don't mind bar pressure, just stick to what you have. You want to jump higher and relieve some of your bar pressure, get some Rev's.

If you can get to Stevenson today you can try both the T3 and the REV for yourself. I tried them today and they are both great but quite different. For me the T3 was ultracivilized, no surprises, faster turning than I expected for a bow, nice and lofty airs with soft landings. Complete depower made me think it would be a great surf kite.

The REV was more like my Octanes but more refined, smoother, lighter bar pressure, and more depower. Jumping was better and landings were softer too than the Octanes.

Now I want a quiver of REVs! Be careful what you demo!

It's a good idea to try em both. I'm really happy with the SS stuff. It's just built really well. I will try to get out to the CL or some T3 and Rev demo

I have the same T2 quiver. I rode the T3 9m demo yesterday. The kite was a little more responsive with the smaller bridle, and the new safety attachment was very nice. I didn't try the 1:1 depower: didn't see the point, I would rather keep the depower and deal with the bar pressure. For mowing the lawn I didn't see a $1000 difference between the two.

The T3s are nice. They are overall better behaved then the T2s IMO but I think they turn the same speed or a tad slower. Bar pressure is much nicer (you'll notice it after you ride it a while, but its a big difference), below the bar safety is nice and it works! (kite will float down and you can recover the bar and keep going...no tangles). I upgraded from the T2s to the T3s because of the bar, safety and shorter bridles. But there are still some things I like better about the T2s.

For me, the REVs just had too narrow of a wind range. I'm not sure why. There are plenty of SLEs out there that go a bit wider (ozone, eclipse). But I didn't spend a lot of time on REVs either, so maybe the wind charts are lying. I'm waiting to see what the REV2 brings to the table. Smile

the Rev is a really fast flying kite. to get the most out of the low end you have to get it moving and generate power through apparent wind more so than you have to do with the T2/3 and other flatter kites. Once you know how to do this, i think the range on the Rev is really good. It took a little getting use to learning how to fly the Rev's coming from fuels, but after flying my rev's 3-4 times i got use to it and much prefer the lighter bar pressure, faster turning kite, over bows, even tho it takes a little more effort as far as flying the kite goes. just my $0.02
