DO you:

1. Use it at all

or

2. If you DON'T - do you cut it off the assembly or ?

I almost NEVER use it - and have cut it off sometimes. I don't want to compromise the re-sale of the bar, but I can't simply tuck it out of the way well w/ my new set up.

What about #3: use it all the time.
...guess that means I need to think about taking off the training wheels. Wink

i use it.

taking it out for unhooked tricks and then popping it back in. i don't want to cut off completely. more than once i have forgotten to put it back and and came unhooked accidentally. i like to keep it around for safety's sake.

I use it part-time. Though last year I didn't have one and it worked out just fine.

I don't cut it off or take it out, it never seems to get in the way when I am unhooking. When I am not unhooking I use the stick.

When I tried Nate's Switchblade years ago, he had it zip-tied to the loop in several places. Quick snipe of the ties and I could try it out.

Take it off, keep it for re-sale later.

I use it all the time except of course when I unhook. Before I ever did unhooked tricks or was comfortable riding unhooked I used it all the time becuase I didn't want to get unhooked by accident. Before the donkey "stick" came out we all used to use releasable shackles tied to the spreader bar and shackled to the chicken loop.

I almost never use it and can't really decide whether to cut it off or keep it. Using the SS Profire I always feel secure while hooked in.

Some I have cut and some I have left but mostly left in case I wanted to sell it or ever figure I might want to use it.

One thing I forgot to mention...

SS added a hard plastic stick inside the donkey dick of the 08 bars (my friends call it "viagra".)

Basically everyone I know took that thing out almost immediately. It makes it really hard to get in and out of the "dick." You can take it out by cracking the glue inside, just bend the dick back and forth and twist it with your hands going in opposite directions. Shocked

Also most people I know shortened the loop by a good inch and a half. Even with it smaller its still easy to get in and out of, and it brings the bar closer to you so you have more throw.

Just becareful when you shorten the loop not to overshorten the dick. When under power the loop will stetch and if overshortened your dick will fall out. Very Happy

Shocked

Any time I'm not unhooked or trying stuff I use a DD. A couple years ago I had an incident where I was landing on a gusty beach, a lull came along, I sheeted in too much accidentally unhooking, then a huge gust came along. I was now unhooked with an overpowered kite in my hands, it ripped free, yanked off my leash and flew away to the land of wind and ghosts. Had I been in the DD this wouldn't have happened.

Did you manage to find your kite after this happened? Was it still in one piece?
