That would be fun, still haven't met any of the local crew.

You probably have to work but I am going to try Haystack tomorrow around 10-11ish, looks like the wind might have to much N in it but I am going to give it a shot. Nothing else to do since im out of work for a bit

Hmmm, my 12m is getting repaired (zipper blowout) but I might run out there and mingle if you need some ground support to keep you kite out of the weeds. I could hang out 'till 12:30ish maybe if nothing comes up that needs my attention in the morning.

If the forecast holds I will probably head out to the first campground about 10:30

I will be watching the haystack sensor to see if the weather cooperates with the forecast

I made it down there from about 3:30-4:30 No one else around. Wind was ok, had to loop my 2.5 m foil to keep it powered but all in all not bad for my first landboard session.
Seems like going up wind can be a little tricky with the landboard, or perhaps just my inexperience.
Catch you next time

Yeah, it started raining here so I figured it was off. Just as well I'm still a little tore up from my weekend on the bay. I had a marathon session.

With my experience if you have to do the fruit loop your not going to be able to go upwind very succesfully. From the board side of the equation it's pretty easy if you have strong steady wind. You just point upwind and go. If you have nice soft wheels your board won't slide down wind like it will in the water if you are over powered so you can keep your line fairly easy if you have good kite controll. I run Randle trucks on my 46" pintail and they carve super tight so I don't loose a lot of ground turning. Wheels are 72mm/75a.

The best day I had at the fairgrounds I had enough wind to set and forget my kite and I didn't get off my skate more than 3 times in about 45 mins. The farthest east lot seems to have the most consistant wind plus you can keep an eye on that flag to see what is going on with the wind. That was with my 2m unhooked and longboard. plenty of power to get out of controll with that board it is fast. I would set up a 36"-40" board with a harder wheel and see if I can get some good slides going.

I'm just figuring it out myself but that is my experience so far.

There's a little breeze in the trees up top here but yeah, I wouldn't expect anything at Haystack untill 3:00ish. Even then it's flukey. What time will you be at the fairgrounds?

I'm not sure yet. I have to take my car into town and have some paint work done, so I'll probably take my gear when I go, but depending on when the guy calls and how long it takes will determine when I make it. I am thinking 3-4ish

Sid, glad you made it down to Redmond for a bit yesterday. Are you going to be at your skate shop today? I was going to stop in on my way through town if your around. Where is it located?

Yeah, thanks for letting me try out your foil. I might have to find a little 3-4 meter foil for skiting.

I'll be there 1:00-3:00 but we are open 'till 6:00.
