Hi all,
firstly I have been hovering on your sight for some time, as I find it a great source of information particularly regading slingshot kites. I am from sunny Scotland and own a quiver of T2s.
I have an option to buy a couple of T3's and wondered if anyone has changed from T2's to T3's and wether its worth the expense ?
I am aware that these are relatively new kites, but you guys seem to have first go on all things slingy
Thanks in advance for any advice

I heard the big change is in the new bar...and it's supposed to be sah-wicked! I tried it just test flying on land and it seemed pretty nice.
Even still, I just got a T2 for my small kite so I hope they're good too! |

| I think the only advantage might be if the 1:1 setup works really well cause 2:1 bar pressure is pretty intense, but allows for greater depower. Other than that I'm don't see anything wrong with the T2. I have a 7 and 11, and that gets me going from 15 clear into the 40's. a below-the-bar safety for the T2 would be nice though... |

The T3 has a more compact bridle system for decreasing the chance of the bridle wrapping around the kite during a safety line deployment. It also comes with the same below the bar single line safety as the Rev. VERY nice system.
I've not had a chance to fly the T3, but watching other guys fly it, it seems to be a bit faster through the window? That would make sense because a compact bridle would reduce drag... |

I haven't flown the t3 but have a 14 t2. The t3's are probably slightly better but are they worth the extra coin your going to spend on a new quiver? Probably not.
I guess it might come down to what the resale market in Scottland is. If its really good, then sell the old and buy the new. If it isn't, hold on to the 2's until they die.
just my 2 cents. |

Charlie,
Welcome to our Forum. The T3 is a very nice kite. I have ridden the T2s and own T3s. If you can sell your T2s for a decent price, then upgrading will be a good move. Otherwise, just keep the T2s until it makes financial sense to upgrade. I have no idea what the economics are like there, so you have to make that call.
The T3 has a bit more range than the T2, is is faster and can be ridden in 1:1 for lighter bar pressure. It also has the below the bar safety like the Rev with a compact bridle. That is the difference.
Try a T3 for yourself before buying, then decide....Good Luck. _________________ http://www.active.com/donate/kb4c2008/stevefisher |

The T3s are supposed to be a bit more slippery, which is where the quickness is probably coming from. Should sit a bit further forward in the window too. _________________ myspace.com/adamuyemura |

Thanks for all the info guys.
I have a 9m on demo. If I like, I may just change one for the time being.
Cheers |
