| Yeah, pretty unusual period. But if you get hit while you're just swimming, you're pretty much done. That's where most of the whitey fatalities occur. |

| I grew up right up the street from there. I learned to surf at that very spot when I was 14. Pretty freaky. Talked to my buddy today who still lives there. I guess the guy called out "shark" right before he got hit, and then the shark lifted him out of the water. Very sad. |

Hey Pete, sounds like we were neighbors. Table Tops was always a great spot. Looks like it was a series of factors that made it more probable according to the news stories- warmer waters, seals nearby, swimmers were training pretty far out (150 yards), early morning (feeding time), and birthing season for the sharks. So sad.  |

Yeah, Table Tops was fun, especially at a low tide.
I lived on Glencrest, right off Lomas Santa Fe. |
