I will be in Bend next week (coming from Hawaii) and am wondering whether I should bring my kite gear.
Any ideas on what the conditions in the Gorge will be like? Forecast looks kind of cold...is there anywhere I can rent a wetsuit? How about some of the lakes in Central Oregon?
Thanks...

| Not sure about the weather next week. It's about a 3 hr. drive from Bend up to the gorge. Best to plan your water days "to and fro" the airport. It would be prudent if you're flying into PDX. |

I don't know of any water kiting spots near bend. Probably the closest is the gorge.
The gorge has been delivering easterly winds and the ocasional westerly wind.
And the other day - we had a random southerly wind come in.
As far as renting a wetsuit - in the gorge I know that Brian's windsurfing rents wetsuits. I'm not sure about the other kiteboarding schools. |

Yeah...sounds like the weather has been kind of rough lately. I grew up in Bend so can relate to that.
Probably bring my stuff anyways and hope for the best...
Thanks for the tips... |

| I don't know if you are in Bend yet but winds are supposed to be W.20-30 mph Monday and Tuesday at both Haystack and Prineville reservoir. If you go you will definitely want a wetsuit though. |
